IMPORTANT LEGAL NOTICE — PLEASE READ IN FULL BEFORE USING OUR SERVICES
These Terms of Use and Service Agreement ("Terms") constitute a legally binding contract between you and MeducateED. By accessing, registering for, or using any MeducateED Service — including browsing the platform, creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or accessing any content — you expressly acknowledge that you have read, understood, and irrevocably agreed to be bound by these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree to any provision of these Terms, you must immediately cease all use of the Services and must not create an account or complete any purchase. Continued use of the Services at any time constitutes your ongoing acceptance of these Terms as they may be amended from time to time.
1.1 The following definitions apply throughout this Agreement:
"Account" means the individual user profile created upon registration on the MeducateED platform, through which a User accesses the Services.
"Account Activation" means the moment at which MeducateED grants a User full access to the paid content, features, or modules associated with a purchased subscription or product. Activation is deemed to occur automatically and instantaneously upon MeducateED's system confirming and processing a completed payment transaction, regardless of whether the User has logged in, opened the application, or accessed any content. For the avoidance of doubt, activation is a system-side event, not a user-side action, and does not require any affirmative step by the User following payment confirmation.
"Affiliate Partner" or "Partner" means any individual, company, institution, or entity enrolled in the MeducateED Partnerships Program and operating under a duly executed Partnership Agreement.
"Agreement" means these Terms of Use and Service Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy set out in Section 11 hereof, and any other policies incorporated herein by reference, as amended from time to time.
"B2B Partner" or "Institutional Partner" means any educational institution, university, hospital, healthcare organization, or corporate entity that enters into a formal institutional access or collaborative agreement with MeducateED.

"Data Protection Laws" means all applicable laws and regulations governing the collection, storage, processing, and transfer of personal data in the Arab Republic of Egypt, including but not limited to Law No. 151 of 2020 on the Protection of Personal Data and its implementing regulations, as amended or supplemented from time to time.
"Device" means any computer, smartphone, tablet, or other electronic device through which a User accesses the Services.
"Egyptian Courts" means the competent civil and commercial courts of the Arab Republic of Egypt situated in the Giza Governorate.
"Free Preview Content" means the first portion of each paid product or module made available by MeducateED at no charge to all registered users, without requiring a subscription or purchase, for the express purpose of allowing prospective purchasers to evaluate the quality and suitability of a product prior to committing to any purchase.
"Intellectual Property Rights" means all patents, trademarks, service marks, trade names, copyright, moral rights, database rights, trade secrets, know-how, design rights, and all other intellectual and proprietary rights, whether registered or unregistered, subsisting anywhere in the world.
"Learning Management System" or "LMS" means MeducateED's proprietary digital platform and associated software applications through which educational content is organized, delivered, and tracked.

"Local Payment Method" means any Egypt-specific mobile wallet, instant transfer, or cash-collection payment method made available by MeducateED from time to time, including without limitation InstaPay, Vodafone Cash, and Fawry, through which a User completes payment outside of a card-based Payment Processor and confirms that payment by submitting a transaction reference number for verification, as further described in Section 10.7.
"University Teaching Period" means, in respect of any course offered by MeducateED, the specific academic period during which the corresponding subject is taught at the partner university to which that course is mapped, as determined by the relevant university's official academic calendar and as reasonably interpreted and communicated by MeducateED on the course listing or Student Dashboard.

A Bundled Promotional Offer is identified as such at the point of purchase. Any purchase made at a price that reflects a multi-item discount — whether described as a "bundle," "pack," "offer," "promotional package," "combined deal," or any similar designation — constitutes a Bundled Promotional Offer for the purposes of this Agreement and is subject to the bundle refund rules in Section 11.11.
"Individual Retail Price" means, in respect of any specific product or Subscription, the standard price at which that product or Subscription is listed for individual, standalone purchase on the MeducateED platform at the time the relevant Bundled Promotional Offer transaction is completed. The Individual Retail Price is fixed at the time of purchase and does not change retroactively by reason of any subsequent promotional pricing, price adjustments, or offers introduced after the date of the original bundle purchase.
"Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Edition" means a distinct, limited-run physical edition of a MeducateED Books Series publication that is made available for reservation exclusively after the standard commercial edition of the same title has already been formally published and made generally available, and for which the physical production materials are procured and commissioned specifically and solely on the basis of confirmed reservations, as more fully defined in Section 11.7(c).

2.2 These Terms are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or in relation to these Terms or the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Arab Republic of Egypt, situated in the Giza Governorate, and each party irrevocably submits to that jurisdiction.
3.1 This Agreement is formed, and becomes legally binding upon you, at the earliest of the following events: (a) your clicking of any "I Agree," "Accept," "Register," or similar button or checkbox on the platform; (b) your creation of an Account; (c) your completion of any purchase of a paid Service; or (d) your accessing or using any portion of the Services.

If you do not have such authority, you must not accept these Terms and must not access or use the Services on behalf of the Organization.
3.3 These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any supplemental terms applicable to specific Services, constitute the entire agreement between you and MeducateED with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior and contemporaneous negotiations, discussions, representations, warranties, and agreements, whether oral or written, between you and MeducateED. No external terms, conditions, or documents submitted by any User or Organization shall modify or override this Agreement unless expressly agreed to in a separate written instrument duly executed by an authorized representative of MeducateED.
3.4 MeducateED reserves the right to decline access to the Services to any person or entity for any reason, in its sole discretion, without liability.
4.1 You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to register for an Account, make any purchase, or use the Services independently. If you are under the age of eighteen (18), you may only use the Services with the express consent and active supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf and assumes full responsibility for your use of the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet the applicable age requirements set forth in this section.
4.2 You represent and warrant that: (a) you have the full legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement; (b) your use of the Services does not violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party agreement; and (c) all information you provide to MeducateED is accurate, truthful, and complete.

4.4 Users who access the Services from jurisdictions outside the Arab Republic of Egypt are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable local laws and regulations. MeducateED makes no representation that the Services are appropriate or legally available in all jurisdictions.
5.1 To access paid Services and certain features of the platform, you must create an Account by providing accurate, complete, and current information as requested during the registration process. You agree to maintain and promptly update your account information to ensure it remains accurate, complete, and current at all times.
5.2 You are solely responsible for maintaining the strict confidentiality of your Account credentials, including your username and password. You agree not to share, disclose, sell, or transfer your Account credentials to any third party under any circumstances whatsoever.
5.3 You are solely and fully responsible for all activities that occur under your Account, whether or not authorized by you. You must notify MeducateED immediately at info@meducateed.com upon becoming aware of any unauthorized access to, or use of, your Account or any security breach.
5.4 Each Account is strictly personal and non-transferable. You may not create multiple Accounts for the purpose of circumventing any restriction, accessing features to which you are not entitled, or abusing any free preview, promotional, or scholarship offer. MeducateED reserves the right to merge, suspend, or permanently delete duplicate or fraudulent Accounts without notice or liability.
5.5 MeducateED reserves the right to disable or suspend any Account at any time without prior notice if MeducateED has reasonable grounds to believe that any Account information is false, misleading, or in violation of these Terms.

Courses incorporate vectorized illustrations, three-dimensional anatomical animations, on-camera instructor sessions utilizing the Elsevier Complete Anatomy Atlas, multilingual captions, embedded quizzes, assignments, and supplementary study notes. All content undergoes independent quality assurance review prior to publication. MeducateED reserves the right to modify, discontinue, suspend, or enhance any feature, module, or component of the Services at any time without prior notice, provided that such modifications do not materially and adversely affect active paid Subscriptions without reasonable notice to affected Users.
7.1 In lieu of offering a free trial subscription or a post-purchase trial period, MeducateED makes available, at no charge and without requiring a purchase, the first substantive portion of every paid product and module offered on the platform ("Free Preview Content"). This Free Preview Content is accessible to all registered Users and is specifically designed to allow prospective purchasers to fully evaluate the quality, depth, pedagogical style, localization accuracy, and suitability of any product before committing to a purchase.
7.2 By accessing Free Preview Content prior to any purchase, you expressly acknowledge and agree that: (a) you have been afforded a meaningful opportunity to evaluate MeducateED's products before purchasing; (b) any decision to purchase following your access of Free Preview Content constitutes a fully informed purchasing decision; and (c) your completion of a purchase after having had access to Free Preview Content is a knowing and voluntary acceptance of the product, irrespective of whether you actually accessed the Free Preview Content.
7.3 The availability of Free Preview Content is offered as a direct and reasonable substitute for a post-purchase refund period or free trial subscription. Users are strongly encouraged to fully utilize all available Free Preview Content before making any purchase decision. MeducateED bears no responsibility for any dissatisfaction arising from a failure to utilize the available Free Preview Content prior to purchasing.
7.4 The scope, duration, and content of the Free Preview are determined solely by MeducateED and may be modified at any time without notice, provided that a meaningful preview of each paid product remains available.
8.1 License Grant. Subject to your full compliance with these Terms and timely payment of all applicable fees, MeducateED hereby grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Services and Content solely for your own lawful, personal, non-commercial educational purposes for the duration of your active Subscription or the applicable access period.
8.2 Absolute Prohibition on Content Capture and Reproduction. You expressly agree that you will not, and will not permit, encourage, assist, or facilitate any third party to, reproduce, capture, copy, or extract any Content by any means whatsoever, including but not limited to each of the following methods individually, all of which are equally and independently prohibited:
(a) Screen capture and recording — taking screenshots, screen captures, or still images of any Content displayed on any screen or Device, whether by operating system screenshot functionality, third-party screenshot software, browser extensions, or any other mechanism;
(b) Screen recording and screen mirroring — recording video of any Content as it is displayed on a screen, whether through operating system screen recording tools, third-party screen recording software, hardware capture cards, screen mirroring to another device, or any other method that produces a video, animated image, or sequential still image capture of displayed Content;
(c) External physical recording — pointing, positioning, or using any camera, mobile phone, tablet, secondary device, webcam, camcorder, or any other optical recording instrument at or toward any screen, monitor, or display device on which MeducateED Content is being displayed, for the purpose of capturing, photographing, or filming that Content, regardless of the resolution, format, or quality of the resulting recording;
(d) Text copying and transcription — selecting, copying, or extracting any text from the platform by any means, including keyboard shortcuts (such as Ctrl+C / Cmd+C), right-click copy functions, browser developer tools, page source inspection, clipboard interception, or any other mechanism; and manually transcribing, typing out, or dictating any Content — including but not limited to question bank items, lecture notes, clinical vignettes, slide text, book excerpts, and Socrates outputs — into any external document, application, or medium;
(e) Downloading and file extraction — downloading, saving, exporting, or extracting any Content file, including video files, PDF documents, slide files, image files, audio files, or any other format, whether through the platform interface, direct URL access, browser caching mechanisms, developer tools, network interception, or any other means;
(f) Printing — printing, causing to be printed, or sending to print any Content displayed on the platform, whether to a physical printer, a PDF printer, a virtual printer, or any other print destination;
(g) Sharing and distribution — sharing, forwarding, transmitting, uploading, posting, publishing, distributing, or making available any Content — in whole or in part, in original or modified form, at any level of quality — to any person, group, channel, platform, website, messaging application, social media account, cloud storage service, or any other medium or channel, regardless of whether the sharing is private or public, paid or free, intentional or negligent;
(h) Digital rights circumvention — circumventing, disabling, bypassing, removing, or interfering with any digital rights management (DRM) system, access control mechanism, watermark, content protection layer, authentication requirement, or technical measure implemented by MeducateED for the purpose of protecting its Content or Intellectual Property Rights;
(i) Automated extraction — using any bot, scraper, crawler, spider, headless browser, API interception tool, automated script, or similar technology to access, index, extract, or reproduce any Content;
(j) Derivative and reconstructed works — modifying, adapting, editing, summarizing with specificity, paraphrasing with the intent to reproduce substantive Content, translating, or otherwise creating derivative works from any Content, and distributing any such derivative or reconstructed work in any form;
(k) Commercial exploitation — selling, sublicensing, renting, or otherwise commercially exploiting any Content, Account access, or any recording, copy, or derivative of any Content; and
(l) Any other method — reproducing, capturing, or distributing Content by any other method, technique, or technology not enumerated above, whether currently in existence or developed in the future, that results in any portion of MeducateED's proprietary Content being accessed, stored, copied, or made available outside the authorized platform environment.
8.3 Any use of the Services or Content not expressly authorized by this Agreement is strictly prohibited and constitutes a material breach of these Terms.
8.4 Technical Enforcement Measures. MeducateED implements, and reserves the right to implement and expand, a range of technical measures to detect, prevent, and investigate violations of these restrictions. Such measures include, without limitation: digital watermarking uniquely tied to each User's Student ID; simultaneous session detection; session token binding; right-click and keyboard shortcut interception; clipboard access event logging; print function interception; browser developer tools detection signals; screen recording and capture detection signals where technically available; and full behavioral monitoring as described in Section 43. You expressly acknowledge that MeducateED employs these technical measures and consent to their operation in connection with your use of the Services. Evidence gathered through these technical measures may be used by MeducateED to enforce its rights under this Agreement and applicable law, including in legal proceedings.
8.5 Single-Device Licence. The license granted under Section 8.1 is issued to one person for use on one Device. Your Account may be registered to, and actively used on, a single Device at any one time. Upon your first sign-in, MeducateED binds your Account to the Device from which you sign in, and subsequent access from any other Device will be refused until that binding is released. You may request a release of the Device binding by contacting MeducateED at info@meducateed.com; MeducateED may decline or limit repeated release requests where the pattern of those requests is inconsistent with use by a single person. Sharing your credentials with any other person, or using your Account on more than one Device concurrently, constitutes a material breach of this Agreement and may result in suspension or termination under Section 23, in addition to the consequences described in Section 31 and Section 42.
9.1 All Content, software, technology, branding, and materials comprising or embodied in the Services — including but not limited to the proprietary nine-step pedagogical production pipeline, all produced videos, animations, three-dimensional anatomical illustrations, question bank databases, MeducateED Books, Socrates outputs, the MARJ, the Open Library, course structures, platform architecture, user interface designs, logos, trademarks, service marks, and trade names — are the exclusive Intellectual Property of MeducateED and/or its licensors. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by MeducateED.
9.2 The MeducateED name, logo, and all associated trademarks, whether registered or unregistered, are the exclusive property of MeducateED. You are expressly prohibited from using any MeducateED trademark, service mark, trade name, or logo without the prior written consent of MeducateED.
9.3 Third-Party Content. The Services may incorporate or reference third-party content or tools, including but not limited to the Elsevier Complete Anatomy Atlas. All rights in third-party content remain with the respective owners. MeducateED's use of third-party tools is conducted under license, and no User acquires any rights in or to such third-party content through use of the Services.
9.4 User Content. Where the Services permit you to submit, upload, or post User Content (including but not limited to forum posts, comments, or contributions to the MARJ), you hereby grant MeducateED a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such User Content in connection with the operation and promotion of the Services. You represent and warrant that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights and that you have all necessary rights to grant the foregoing license.
9.5 Any unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of MeducateED Intellectual Property may subject you to civil and criminal liability under Egyptian law and applicable international intellectual property law.
10.1 Access to paid Services requires prior payment of the applicable fees displayed at the time of purchase. MeducateED's pricing is denominated in Egyptian Pounds (EGP) and/or United States Dollars (USD), as displayed on the platform. All prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
10.2 Payments are processed through MeducateED's authorized Payment Processors, currently including PayPal, Stripe, and MeducateED's supported Local Payment Methods as described in Section 10.7. By completing a purchase, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the applicable Payment Processor, and you acknowledge that MeducateED has no control over, and bears no liability for, the acts or omissions of any Payment Processor.
10.3 By submitting payment, you represent and warrant that: (a) the payment information you provide is accurate and complete; (b) you are authorized to use the payment method provided; and (c) you authorize MeducateED to charge the stated amount to your designated payment method.
10.4 All fees are stated and charged in the currency displayed at checkout. MeducateED bears no responsibility for any currency conversion fees, bank charges, or exchange rate fluctuations applied by your bank or payment provider.
10.5 MeducateED reserves the right to modify its fees and pricing at any time. Any price changes shall apply to purchases made after the effective date of such changes. Existing active Subscriptions shall not be subject to price increases during the current paid subscription period without reasonable advance notice to the affected User.
10.6 Failure to complete payment shall result in no access to paid Services. MeducateED reserves the right to suspend or terminate a Subscription in the event of a failed, reversed, or disputed payment.
10.7 Local Payment Methods. In addition to card-based payment via PayPal and Stripe, MeducateED makes available, for the convenience of students in Egypt who may not hold an internationally enabled payment card, one or more Local Payment Methods, which currently include InstaPay, Vodafone Cash, and Fawry, and may include other comparable Egyptian mobile wallet, instant transfer, or cash-collection methods introduced by MeducateED from time to time. The specific Local Payment Methods available at any given time are displayed at checkout.
10.8 Verification of Local Payment Method Transactions. Where you elect to pay using a Local Payment Method, you will be shown payment instructions (including a recipient account reference and a unique order reference) and you must complete the payment directly with your bank or mobile wallet provider. You are then required to submit, through the checkout page, the transaction reference number issued to you by your bank or wallet provider confirming that payment. MeducateED verifies the transaction reference number you submit against the amount and order reference for your purchase before granting Account Activation. Verification is ordinarily completed within a short period (displayed to you at checkout) but may take longer in individual cases; if your payment cannot be automatically verified, MeducateED's Academic Support team may contact you to confirm the transaction. You are responsible for entering an accurate transaction reference number; MeducateED bears no liability for delays in Account Activation caused by an incorrect, incomplete, or illegible reference number submitted by you.
10.9 No Storage of Banking Credentials. MeducateED does not request, collect, or store your mobile wallet PIN, bank login credentials, card numbers, or any other payment authentication credential in connection with a Local Payment Method transaction. The only information MeducateED collects from you in connection with a Local Payment Method transaction is the transaction reference number, the payment method selected, and the order details, as further described in the Privacy Policy.
THIS SECTION CONSTITUTES THE COMPLETE AND EXCLUSIVE REFUND POLICY OF MEDUCATEED. IT APPLIES IN FULL TO ALL PURCHASES OF EVERY MEDUCATEED PRODUCT AND SERVICE WITHOUT EXCEPTION. BY COMPLETING ANY PURCHASE OF ANY MEDUCATEED PRODUCT OR SERVICE — WHETHER A DIGITAL SUBSCRIPTION, A PHYSICAL BOOK, A BUNDLE, OR ANY OTHER OFFERING — YOU AUTOMATICALLY, IRREVOCABLY, AND WITHOUT RESERVATION AGREE TO AND ACCEPT THIS REFUND POLICY IN ITS ENTIRETY. PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING ANY PURCHASE.
11.1 No-Refund Default Rule. Subject only to the specific and narrowly defined exceptions set forth in Sections 11.2, 11.7, 11.8, and 11.9 of this Agreement, all sales of MeducateED paid products and Subscriptions are final and non-refundable. Once your Account has been Activated — as defined in Section 1.1 of these Terms — no refund shall be issued, under any circumstances, regardless of: (a) the amount paid; (b) the length of time elapsed since Activation; (c) the amount or proportion of Content accessed or used; (d) whether you logged in or engaged with any Content at all; (e) your subjective satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the Services; (f) a change in personal circumstances; (g) technical difficulties experienced on your personal Device or network; (h) the closure of a course at the end of its University Teaching Period under Section 12.4, including where that closure occurs shortly after you subscribed; or (i) any other reason whatsoever, save as required by mandatory provisions of Egyptian law that cannot be contractually excluded.
11.2 Limited Pre-Activation Refund Window. The sole exception to the no-refund rule for digital products and Subscriptions is as follows: if you request a refund within twenty-four (24) hours of completing your purchase, and your Account has not yet been Activated at the time your refund request is received and processed by MeducateED, you may be eligible for a full refund of the fees paid. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@meducateed.com within the 24-hour window, clearly stating your Account details and the reason for the request. MeducateED will verify Account Activation status and, if the Account has not been Activated, will process the refund to the original payment method within a reasonable period, subject to Payment Processor processing times.
11.3 Activation is Instantaneous and System-Side. You expressly acknowledge and agree that, as defined in Section 1.1, Account Activation is an automatic system-side event that occurs at the moment MeducateED's system confirms your payment. Activation does not require any further action by you, including logging in, opening the app, or accessing any Content. The passage of even one (1) second following Activation closes the 24-hour refund window irrevocably if Activation has occurred. MeducateED bears no liability and accepts no claim arising from a User's failure to submit a timely refund request within the 24-hour pre-activation window.
11.4 Reasonableness and Justification of This Policy. This refund policy is fair, reasonable, and commercially justified for the following material reasons, which you expressly acknowledge by completing any purchase:
(a) Free Preview Content is universally available. Before purchasing any paid product or Subscription, MeducateED makes available, free of charge and without any purchase obligation, the first substantive portion of every product offered on the platform. This Free Preview Content provides a genuine and meaningful sample of MeducateED's pedagogical style, content quality, depth of localization, production standards, and platform interface.
(b) Informed purchasing is assured. A User who completes a purchase has therefore had prior access to a meaningful, representative sample of the exact product being purchased. Any decision to purchase is, by virtue of this policy, an informed and deliberate one. There is no basis for a claim of not knowing what was being purchased.
(c) Digital content is irrecoverable. Upon Activation, a User gains immediate and unrestricted access to the full paid product, including structured video content, question banks, and downloadable materials, the entirety of which is delivered instantaneously. Unlike a physical product, digital educational content cannot be "returned" once accessed or made accessible, and MeducateED suffers an immediate, irreversible loss upon Activation.
(d) No post-purchase trial period is offered, and this is disclosed upfront. MeducateED does not offer a post-purchase trial, money-back guarantee, or cooling-off period beyond the narrow pre-activation window in Section 11.2 and the specific Book-related provisions in Section 11.7. This policy is disclosed clearly and prominently before every purchase, and your completion of any purchase is an express waiver of any expectation of a post-activation refund not covered by the specific exceptions enumerated in this Section 11.
11.5 Chargebacks and Payment Disputes. Initiating a chargeback, payment reversal, or dispute through a Payment Processor or your bank in circumstances where you are not entitled to a refund under this Policy constitutes a material breach of this Agreement. In the event of any such unauthorized chargeback: (a) MeducateED reserves the right to immediately and permanently suspend or terminate your Account and all associated access; (b) MeducateED reserves the right to pursue recovery of the disputed amount plus any chargeback fees, administrative costs, and legal fees incurred; and (c) MeducateED reserves the right to report the matter to relevant authorities or credit reporting bodies. You acknowledge that the existence of a chargeback mechanism through a Payment Processor does not create or extend any entitlement to a refund not already provided under this Policy.
11.6 Technical Failures. If a User is unable to access the Services due to a verified, documented technical failure attributable solely to MeducateED's infrastructure — and not to the User's Device, internet connection, or third-party services — and such failure renders the Services entirely inaccessible for a sustained period, the User may contact MeducateED at info@meducateed.com to request a service credit or extension of the Subscription period. Such requests shall be evaluated by MeducateED at its sole reasonable discretion. This provision does not constitute a right to a monetary refund.
11.7 MeducateED Books Series — Physical Products.
(a) Standard Defect and Damage Refunds. Refund and return requests for physical publications in the MeducateED Books Series shall be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Refunds for physical products may be considered only where the product received is demonstrably defective, damaged in transit, or materially different from what was ordered, and only where the User notifies MeducateED within five (5) days of receipt. Shipping costs associated with returns are borne by the User unless the return arises from MeducateED's error.
(b) Release Delay Refund Right — Standard Editions. Where a physical publication in the MeducateED Books Series is offered for advance purchase prior to its official publication date and MeducateED fails to dispatch the publication by the original release date communicated at the time of purchase, or within any revised delivery date subsequently communicated to the purchaser in writing, the purchaser shall be entitled to request a complete refund of all fees paid for that publication. Such refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@meducateed.com after the lapse of the originally stated release date without fulfillment. MeducateED shall process such refunds to the original payment method within a reasonable period, subject to Payment Processor processing times. For the avoidance of doubt, this right applies exclusively to standard advance-purchase orders and does not apply to Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Editions as defined and governed by Section 11.7(c) below.
(c) Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Editions — No-Refund Rule. Notwithstanding Section 11.7(b) and all other provisions of this Refund Policy, no refund shall be issued under any circumstances in respect of any purchase designated as a "Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Edition."
A Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Edition is a distinct, limited-run physical edition of a MeducateED publication that satisfies all of the following conditions:
(i) the standard commercial edition of the relevant title has already been formally published and made generally available for purchase prior to the opening of reservations for the Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Edition;
(ii) the Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Edition is offered for reservation exclusively after the launch of the standard edition and is clearly designated as a special reserved edition at the point of purchase;
(iii) the physical production materials for the Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Edition — including but not limited to paper stock, binding materials, specialist printing substrates, cover finishes, and any bespoke packaging — are procured, commissioned, and contracted by MeducateED specifically and exclusively on the basis of confirmed reservations, meaning that the quantity of materials ordered directly corresponds to and is determined by the number of reservations received; and
(iv) the production and material commitment for such edition is therefore entirely demand-driven and non-recoverable — MeducateED incurs a binding, irreversible material cost at the moment each reservation is confirmed.
By placing a reservation for a Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Edition, you expressly acknowledge and irrevocably agree that: (A) you have read and understood the definition and conditions set out in this Section 11.7(c); (B) your reservation triggers an immediate, binding, and non-reversible material procurement commitment by MeducateED that cannot be unwound regardless of circumstances; (C) no refund shall be issued with respect to a Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Edition for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to delay in production, change of personal circumstances, dissatisfaction with the product upon receipt, or any other cause; and (D) any refund claim, chargeback, or payment dispute initiated with respect to a Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Edition shall be treated as a material breach of this Agreement and shall be subject to the full consequences set forth in Section 11.5.
MeducateED shall clearly and prominently disclose at the point of reservation whether a given edition is a Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Edition. The presence of this designation on the product listing at the time of purchase constitutes sufficient and binding notice for the purposes of this clause, and no separate individual notification is required.
11.8 Scholarships. Scholarship grants are non-monetary, non-transferable, and non-refundable. No cash equivalent shall be payable in respect of any scholarship award.
11.9 MeducateED's Unilateral Right to Cancel and Refund. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Refund Policy or this Agreement, MeducateED reserves the absolute, unconditional, and unilateral right to cancel any active Subscription, any pending or fulfilled order, or access to any product or Service at any time, for any reason or for no reason, entirely at MeducateED's sole and exclusive discretion, including but not limited to reasons relating to: operational decisions; platform restructuring; product discontinuation; changes in curriculum; compliance requirements; quality assurance findings; commercial or editorial considerations; or any other internal reason that MeducateED elects not to disclose. In the event MeducateED exercises this right:
(a) MeducateED shall issue a complete refund of the fees paid by the affected User in respect of the cancelled Subscription or product, calculated on a pro-rata basis for any unused portion of a time-limited Subscription period, or as a full refund for any product or Subscription that has not been meaningfully delivered;
(b) The refund shall be issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase, within a reasonable period subject to Payment Processor processing times;
(c) MeducateED shall notify the affected User of the cancellation and refund via the email address associated with their Account;
(d) The issuance of a complete refund under this Section 11.9 constitutes MeducateED's sole and complete obligation to the User in respect of the cancelled product or Subscription. No further compensation, damages, or claims shall be available to the User arising from a cancellation made under this Section; and
(e) MeducateED's exercise of this right does not constitute a breach of this Agreement. The User's sole remedy in the event of a MeducateED-initiated cancellation is the complete refund described above.
You expressly acknowledge and accept that MeducateED's reservation of this unilateral cancellation right is a material, known, and agreed term of this Agreement, and that by completing any purchase you accept the possibility — however remote — that MeducateED may exercise this right.
11.10 Automatic Agreement to This Refund Policy by Purchase. By completing the purchase of any MeducateED product or Service — regardless of the product type, the purchase amount, the payment method used, or the channel through which the purchase is made — you automatically, fully, and irrevocably agree to and accept every provision of this Refund Policy as set out in this Section 11, including all subsections, in its current form as at the date of purchase. No separate signature, acknowledgment checkbox, or confirmation step is required for this Agreement to take full legal effect. Your act of completing a purchase is, in and of itself, the legal act of agreement. No claim of unawareness of, or disagreement with, any provision of this Refund Policy shall be available to you following the completion of any purchase.
11.11 Bundled Promotional Offer — Refund Calculation Rules.
(a) Scope. This Section 11.11 applies exclusively to purchases made as part of a Bundled Promotional Offer, as defined in Section 1.1. It governs the calculation of any refund amount where: (i) a refund is otherwise eligible under the applicable provisions of this Section 11; and (ii) the product or Subscription in respect of which the refund is requested was purchased as part of a Bundled Promotional Offer rather than as a standalone individual purchase.
(b) Automatic Forfeiture of Bundle Discount. Where any refund is issued — or requested and found eligible — in respect of any one or more components of a Bundled Promotional Offer, the bundle discount applicable to the entire transaction is automatically and irrevocably forfeited in full. The bundle pricing that was applied at the time of purchase shall cease to be operative, and the remaining items retained by the User shall be retroactively repriced at their respective Individual Retail Prices for the purpose of calculating the refund amount. This forfeiture is automatic, applies regardless of the reason for the refund, and cannot be waived.
(c) Refund Calculation Method. The refund amount payable in respect of any eligible refund request arising from a Bundled Promotional Offer transaction shall be calculated as follows:
Refund Amount = Bundle Price Paid − (Individual Retail Price × Number of Items Retained)
Where:
If the result of this calculation is zero (0) or a negative number, no monetary refund shall be payable. In such circumstances, the User retains access to the items they are keeping but is entitled to no cash refund, as the Individual Retail Prices of the retained items fully exhaust or exceed the total bundle price paid.
(d) Illustrative Examples. The following examples are provided for clarity of understanding and do not modify or qualify the operative provisions of this Section. They are not exhaustive.
Example 1 — Book Pack: A User purchases a pack of four (4) books for a bundle price of 550 EGP. The Individual Retail Price of each book is 150 EGP. If a refund is requested for one (1) book under an eligible refund provision, the calculation is: 550 − (150 × 3) = 550 − 450 = 100 EGP refunded. The User is not entitled to 150 EGP for the refunded book, because the bundle pricing must be unwound and the three retained books are now counted at their Individual Retail Price of 150 EGP each.
Example 2 — Course Pack: A User purchases a pack of three (3) courses for a bundle price of 4,500 EGP. The Individual Retail Price of each course is 2,000 EGP. A refund request for one course is submitted and is found to be eligible under an applicable exception (such as pre-activation under Section 11.2, or a board-approved exceptional circumstance under Section 11.9). The calculation is: 4,500 − (2,000 × 2) = 4,500 − 4,000 = 500 EGP refunded. The User is not entitled to 2,000 EGP for the refunded course, because the bundle discount is forfeited and the two retained courses are each counted at their Individual Retail Price of 2,000 EGP.
(e) Partial Bundle Refunds — General Rule. The general no-refund rule in Section 11.1 applies to each component of a Bundled Promotional Offer individually. A User seeking a refund for one component of a bundle must establish an independent eligibility basis under this Section 11 in respect of that specific component. The purchase of multiple items in a bundle does not create an independent right to a partial refund that would not otherwise exist under these Terms for a standalone purchase.
(f) No Selective Unbundling. A User may not selectively unbundle a Bundled Promotional Offer for the sole purpose of obtaining a larger individual refund than the bundle calculation formula yields. Any refund request that MeducateED determines is structured for the purpose of gaming the bundle pricing rather than reflecting a genuine and otherwise-eligible refund entitlement may be refused in its entirety at MeducateED's sole discretion.
(g) Complete Bundle Refund. A request for a refund of a Bundled Promotional Offer in its entirety — i.e., all components of the bundle — is governed by the standard refund rules applicable to each component product type (Section 11.2 for pre-activation digital refunds; Section 11.7(b) for book release delays; etc.). The bundle calculation formula in Section 11.11(c) does not apply to a complete bundle refund, as no items are being retained.
12.1 A Subscription grants access to specified Content and features for the designated access period. Upon expiry of a Subscription period, access to paid Content will cease unless the Subscription is renewed.
12.2 MeducateED does not currently offer automatic recurring billing as a default. Where auto-renewal is offered as an optional feature, it will be clearly disclosed and require your express opt-in consent at the time of purchase. Users who opt in to auto-renewal may cancel future renewals by contacting MeducateED no less than forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled renewal date.
12.3 Subscriptions are personal, non-transferable, and may not be shared between Users.
12.4 Course Access Is Tied to the University Teaching Period. Each course offered by MeducateED corresponds to a specific subject taught at a specific partner university, and access to that course is governed by the University Teaching Period applicable to that subject, and not solely by the date on which you purchased or subscribed to the course. Specifically:
(a) A course becomes accessible to an enrolled User no earlier than the commencement of the University Teaching Period to which it corresponds;
(b) A course closes, and access to it ends, automatically upon the conclusion of the University Teaching Period to which it corresponds — regardless of the date on which you subscribed, enrolled, or made payment, and regardless of how much or how little of the course you have completed. If you subscribe to a course partway through, or shortly before the end of, its University Teaching Period, your access will still end when that period ends, and you will not be entitled to a pro-rated extension, a refund, or any other compensation on the ground that you held access for a shorter duration than other Users;
(c) MeducateED will make reasonable efforts to display the applicable University Teaching Period, or its expected closing date, on the relevant course listing and Student Dashboard prior to purchase, but the University Teaching Period itself is set by the relevant university and not by MeducateED, and MeducateED is not responsible for any change a university makes to its own academic calendar; and
(d) This Section 12.4 forms part of the basis on which MeducateED's pricing is calculated and is a material term that you accept by completing any course purchase. It operates independently of, and in addition to, the Refund Policy in Section 11, and does not itself create any refund entitlement; the closure of a course at the end of its University Teaching Period is not a cancellation by MeducateED under Section 11.9 and does not trigger a refund under that Section.
12.5 Course Reopening Fees. If, following the close of a course's access period under Section 12.4, you need to restudy that course — for example, because you did not pass the corresponding subject at your university, your examination was deferred, or you are repeating the academic year — you may request a Course Reopening on the following terms:
(a) If you were previously subscribed to or enrolled in that same course during a prior University Teaching Period, the fee to reopen the course is fifty percent (50%) of the then-current price of the course;
(b) If you were not previously subscribed to or enrolled in that same course, the fee to reopen the course is one hundred percent (100%) of the then-current price of the course — that is, the full price, as if you were purchasing the course for the first time;
(c) The "then-current price of the course" means MeducateED's published price for that course at the time the Course Reopening is requested, which may differ from the price you originally paid. MeducateED does not guarantee that a Course Reopening fee will match any price you may have previously paid for the same course;
(d) A Course Reopening request must be submitted in accordance with Section 41 and must identify the specific course, your Student ID, and the reason for the request (for example, confirmation that you are repeating the relevant academic year or subject). MeducateED may, at its discretion, request reasonable supporting documentation (such as proof of university re-registration) before processing a Course Reopening;
(e) A Course Reopening granted under this Section 12.5 grants renewed access to the course for the duration of the University Teaching Period then in effect for that subject at your university, and is subject to Section 12.4 in the same manner as an original purchase — meaning that a reopened course will likewise close at the end of that University Teaching Period; and
(f) Course Reopening fees are payable in advance and are governed by the Refund Policy in Section 11 in the same manner as any other course purchase. A Course Reopening does not constitute a Bundled Promotional Offer, and Section 11.11 does not apply to it unless the Course Reopening is itself purchased as part of a bundle clearly designated as such at the point of purchase.
13.1 MeducateED administers the MeducateED Scholarships Program, a structured financial assistance initiative with a dedicated fund exceeding USD 135,000 (or the EGP equivalent), designed to subsidize access to the Services for financially disadvantaged, academically meritorious, and specially designated students.
13.2 Scholarship categories currently include, but are not limited to: Financial Aid Scholarships, Merit-Based Scholarships, Memorial and Honorary Fellowships (including the Dr. Youssef Mohammed Abdelsattar Scholarship and the Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya Memorial Scholarship), the Quran Ijazah Scholarship, and the Fantasy Premier League Scholarship.
13.3 Scholarship awards are granted solely at MeducateED's discretion, based on the eligibility criteria published for each scholarship category from time to time. MeducateED reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any scholarship category at any time without prior notice.
13.4 Scholarship recipients must use awarded access solely for the personal educational purposes for which the scholarship was granted. Any misuse, transfer, resale, or abuse of a scholarship grant will result in immediate revocation of the award and may result in Account termination.
13.5 Scholarship grants confer no contractual entitlement on any applicant. Decisions made by MeducateED in relation to scholarship applications are final and not subject to appeal.
14.1 MeducateED operates a formal Partnerships Program through which qualified Affiliate Partners and Institutional Partners may collaborate with MeducateED in the areas of revenue sharing, brand synergy, content co-creation, and mutual resource access.
14.2 Partnership applications are subject to a formal two-week internal review and approval process. No partnership relationship is established until a duly executed written Partnership Agreement has been signed by an authorized representative of MeducateED.
14.3 Affiliate Partners who are approved and actively enrolled in the program may receive a revenue share of up to ten percent (10%) of net subscription fees generated by Users referred by the Partner, for the duration of those Users' active Subscriptions, subject to the terms of the applicable Partnership Agreement.
14.4 Revenue share payments are subject to: (a) compliance with all terms of the applicable Partnership Agreement; (b) accurate and verifiable referral tracking; and (c) successful collection of the underlying subscription fees by MeducateED. MeducateED reserves the right to withhold, adjust, or claw back revenue share payments in cases of fraud, misrepresentation, violation of Partnership Agreement terms, or where underlying subscription fees are reversed or refunded.
14.5 Partners are expressly prohibited from making any misrepresentation about MeducateED's Services, scholarship programs, pricing, or any other matter in the course of their referral activities. Partners may not engage in any marketing conduct that would violate applicable advertising, consumer protection, or anti-spam laws.
14.6 The Partnership Program terms set forth herein are supplementary to, and do not replace, the specific terms of each executed Partnership Agreement.
15.1 In addition to the restrictions set forth in Section 8.2, you agree that you will not:
(a) Use the Services in any manner that violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation;
(b) Impersonate MeducateED, any MeducateED employee, instructor, or any other person or entity, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
(c) Transmit or upload any material that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, offensive, threatening, abusive, harassing, or fraudulent;
(d) Engage in any form of academic dishonesty in connection with the Services, including but not limited to misrepresenting completed assessments, sharing examination answers with other students, or using the Services to assist others in cheating;
(e) Introduce any virus, malware, trojan horse, ransomware, denial-of-service attack, or other harmful or disruptive code or technology into or through the Services;
(f) Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services' systems or networks, or attempt to breach any security or authentication measures;
(g) Create or operate fictitious Accounts, or use the Services under a false identity;
(h) Engage in any conduct designed to manipulate reviews, ratings, scholarship applications, or any other system within the Services;
(i) Use the Services to develop, train, or improve any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, or to create any competing product or service;
(j) Use the Services in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair MeducateED's infrastructure or interfere with any other user's enjoyment of the Services;
(k) Attempt to interfere with, disable, deceive, spoof, or evade any of MeducateED's behavioral monitoring systems, anti-piracy detection mechanisms, watermarking systems, content protection layers, or any other technical security or surveillance measure described in Section 8.4 and Section 43, including but not limited to: using virtual machines or emulators to disguise session behavior; using browser privacy modes or VPNs for the purpose of concealing prohibited conduct; injecting scripts into the platform to suppress monitoring signals; or taking any other action intended to cause MeducateED's monitoring systems to fail to detect a violation of this Agreement;
(l) Exhibit behavioral patterns on the platform that, whether in isolation or in combination, are consistent with or suggestive of an attempt to capture, record, exfiltrate, or distribute Content, as further described in Section 43, including but not limited to: sustained cursor movements tracing over text content followed by copy-attempt signals; repeated right-click events on video or image content; rapid sequential navigation through question bank items without substantive engagement times; simultaneous background processes exhibiting signals consistent with screen recording; or any other pattern that MeducateED's fraud detection or anti-piracy systems flag as anomalous or suspicious; and
(m) Share, publish, or communicate any Content — including but not limited to question bank items, clinical vignettes, lecture notes, slide content, book excerpts, and Socrates outputs — to any person, platform, or medium outside the MeducateED platform, regardless of the format in which the Content is reproduced (typed, photographed, recorded, or otherwise).
15.2 Violation of any provision of this Section constitutes a material breach of this Agreement and may result in immediate suspension or termination of your Account, without prior warning, without refund, and may expose you to civil and criminal liability.
16.1 MeducateED's Services are designed exclusively to support legitimate, good-faith academic study. Users are required to engage with all assessments, question banks, and academic activities on the platform with full honesty and academic integrity.
16.2 The Content and question banks provided on the platform are proprietary educational resources. Users are strictly prohibited from distributing, publishing, or sharing examination questions, answers, or any other assessment material obtained through the platform.
16.3 MeducateED assumes no responsibility for any academic sanctions, disciplinary action, or legal consequences arising from a User's misuse of the Services in violation of their university's academic integrity policies.
17.1 IMPORTANT NOTICE. All Content available through MeducateED's Services — including but not limited to video lectures, course modules, question banks, Socrates outputs, Open Library resources, MARJ publications, podcast content, and blog posts — is provided exclusively for general educational and academic study purposes. The Content is designed to support and supplement formal medical education. It does not constitute, and must not be treated as, professional medical advice, clinical diagnosis, medical treatment recommendations, or a substitute for professional clinical judgment.
17.2 MeducateED is an educational technology company, not a licensed medical institution or healthcare provider. None of the Content on the platform should be relied upon for any clinical, diagnostic, or treatment decision. Any such reliance is entirely at the User's own risk, and MeducateED expressly disclaims all liability arising from any such reliance.
17.3 Socrates Content. Content generated by MeducateED Socrates is produced by artificial intelligence systems and is subject to inherent limitations, including the potential for inaccuracy, incompleteness, or outdated information. Socrates outputs are provided as study aids only and must be independently verified against authoritative clinical sources before any reliance thereon in any professional or clinical context.
17.4 Users who are qualified healthcare professionals using the Services for continuing professional development are advised that the Content does not replace current clinical guidelines, evidence-based protocols, or the professional judgment required in individual patient care.
18.1 THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MEDUCATEED EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AND UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.
18.2 MEDUCATEED DOES NOT WARRANT THAT: (a) THE SERVICES WILL MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OR EXPECTATIONS; (b) THE SERVICES WILL BE AVAILABLE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION, ERROR, OR DELAY; (c) ANY ERRORS OR DEFECTS IN THE SERVICES WILL BE CORRECTED; (d) THE SERVICES OR THE SERVERS THROUGH WHICH THEY ARE DELIVERED ARE FREE FROM VIRUSES OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS; OR (e) ACCESS TO THE SERVICES WILL IMPROVE YOUR ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE, EXAMINATION RESULTS, OR PROFESSIONAL OUTCOMES.
18.3 MeducateED makes reasonable efforts to ensure the clinical accuracy of its Content through its Quality Assurance process; however, medical science is continuously evolving, and MeducateED does not warrant that any specific piece of Content reflects the most current clinical guidelines or research at any given point in time.
19.1 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MEDUCATEED, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, INSTRUCTORS, CONTRACTORS, AND PARTNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF — OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE — THE SERVICES OR ANY CONTENT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, ACADEMIC FAILURE, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR ANY OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSS, EVEN IF MEDUCATEED HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
19.2 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MEDUCATEED'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT OR THE SERVICES — WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR OTHERWISE — SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL FEES ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU TO MEDUCATEED IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
19.3 The limitations set forth in this Section apply to the fullest extent permitted by applicable Egyptian law and shall survive termination or expiration of this Agreement.
20.1 You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MeducateED and its directors, officers, employees, agents, instructors, licensors, and partners from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use or misuse of the Services; (b) your violation of any provision of this Agreement; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; (d) your violation of any third-party rights, including Intellectual Property Rights; (e) any User Content you submit; or (f) any misrepresentation made by you.
20.2 MeducateED reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which event you shall cooperate fully with MeducateED.
21.1 MeducateED shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under this Agreement where such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond MeducateED's reasonable control ("Force Majeure Events"), including but not limited to: acts of God, natural disasters, war, armed conflict, geopolitical crises, government orders, civil unrest, terrorism, epidemic, pandemic, power outages, telecommunications failures, cyberattacks by third parties, or failure of third-party service providers.
21.2 In the event of a Force Majeure Event, MeducateED shall notify Users as soon as reasonably practicable and shall use reasonable efforts to restore Services. Any Subscription period affected by a sustained, material Force Majeure Event may, at MeducateED's sole discretion, be extended by a commensurate period.
22.1 The Services may contain links to, or integrate with, third-party websites, platforms, applications, or services, including but not limited to Payment Processors (PayPal and Stripe), the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Spotify, Anghami, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and the Elsevier Complete Anatomy platform. MeducateED provides these links and integrations as a convenience and does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for any third-party service, website, or content.
22.2 Your use of any third-party service is governed solely by the terms and conditions and privacy policies of that third party. MeducateED expressly disclaims all liability arising from your use of any third-party service.
22.3 MeducateED's use of the Elsevier Complete Anatomy Atlas and any other third-party educational tools within its instructional content is conducted under appropriate license arrangements. Users acquire no license or rights in respect of such third-party tools through their use of MeducateED's Services.
23.1 Termination by MeducateED. MeducateED reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to immediately and permanently suspend or terminate your Account and all access to the Services — without prior notice, without prior warning, and without liability — upon the occurrence of any of the following: (a) your breach of any provision of this Agreement; (b) your engagement in any Prohibited Conduct as defined in Section 15; (c) the detection by MeducateED's behavioral monitoring, anti-piracy, or fraud detection systems of behavioral patterns consistent with or suggestive of any attempt to capture, record, reproduce, exfiltrate, or distribute Content in violation of Section 8.2, regardless of whether the attempted violation was ultimately successful; (d) the detection of any attempt to circumvent, disable, or deceive MeducateED's monitoring or content protection systems; (e) fraudulent, misleading, or unlawful activity in connection with the Services; (f) your initiation of an unauthorized chargeback or payment dispute; (g) failure to pay any applicable fees; or (h) any other reason that MeducateED reasonably determines warrants suspension or termination. You expressly acknowledge and agree that MeducateED's right to suspend or terminate under sub-paragraphs (c) and (d) above does not require MeducateED to first issue a warning, notice, or opportunity to remedy, and that no prior notification of any kind is required before suspension or termination takes effect where MeducateED determines that immediate action is warranted to protect its Intellectual Property Rights or the integrity of the platform.
23.2 Effect of Termination. Upon any termination — whether initiated by MeducateED or by you — the following consequences apply: (a) your license to access the Services ceases immediately; (b) you must immediately cease all access to and use of the Services; (c) all outstanding obligations under this Agreement survive termination, including Sections 9, 11, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 25; and (d) no refund shall be issued upon termination for cause, save as required by mandatory Egyptian law.
23.3 Termination by User. You may terminate your Account at any time by contacting MeducateED at info@meducateed.com. Such termination does not entitle you to any refund of fees paid, in accordance with Section 11.
24.1 MeducateED's collection, use, storage, and processing of personal data in connection with the Services is governed by MeducateED's Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and constitutes an integral part of this Agreement. The Privacy Policy is available at [MeducateED website URL].
24.4 Usage Data Collection and Analytics. By accessing and using MeducateED's Services, you acknowledge and expressly consent to MeducateED's collection, processing, and analysis of Usage and Behavioral Data as described in Section 4.5 of the Privacy Policy and further detailed in this Section 24.4. MeducateED collects comprehensive usage data throughout every session across all access channels — including the website, Desktop Application, mobile applications, and all content delivery interfaces — for the following purposes, which you acknowledge as legitimate, reasonable, and consistent with industry-standard practices for enterprise educational technology platforms:
(a) Product improvement and feature development — identifying underperforming features, content gaps, and interface friction points, and directing engineering resources accordingly;
(b) Content quality and pedagogical effectiveness — analyzing engagement metrics (completion rates, question performance distributions, re-engagement patterns, and drop-off points) to improve the educational quality and clinical accuracy of all Content;
(c) Personalization and adaptive learning — using individual and aggregated usage patterns to train and improve the Socrates module's adaptive learning pathways, performance predictions, and personalized study recommendations;
(d) A/B testing and product experimentation — conducting controlled experiments to evaluate alternative designs, features, and content presentations and make evidence-based product decisions;
(e) Business intelligence and strategic planning — aggregating usage data to understand demand patterns, geographic distribution, subject-matter popularity, and growth trends, informing curriculum expansion and regional expansion decisions;
(f) Platform performance monitoring and capacity planning — ensuring system reliability, optimizing infrastructure, and proactively resolving technical issues before they affect Users;
(g) Retention and satisfaction analysis — understanding User engagement patterns, renewal behavior, and satisfaction signals to improve the overall platform experience; and
(h) Regulatory and security compliance — maintaining records of platform usage sufficient to investigate and respond to security incidents, intellectual property violations, and regulatory enquiries.
All usage data analytics are conducted with privacy-protective measures, including aggregation, anonymization, and pseudonymization wherever technically feasible. MeducateED does not sell usage data to third parties for their own commercial purposes. Third-party analytics tools that MeducateED uses to process usage data are bound by contractual data processing obligations and may be managed through MeducateED's Cookies Policy and consent mechanism.
24.2 By accepting these Terms, you acknowledge and consent to the collection and processing of your personal data in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
24.3 Where MeducateED processes User Data on behalf of an Organization, MeducateED acts as a data processor, and the Organization acts as the data controller, subject to a data processing addendum to be executed as part of the institutional agreement.
25.1 Each party agrees to maintain in strict confidence all non-public, proprietary, or commercially sensitive information disclosed by the other party in connection with this Agreement, and not to disclose such information to any third party without the prior written consent of the disclosing party, save as required by law.
25.2 This obligation of confidentiality does not apply to information that: (a) is or becomes publicly available through no fault of the receiving party; (b) was independently known by the receiving party prior to disclosure; or (c) is required to be disclosed by law, court order, or regulatory authority, provided that the disclosing party is given reasonable prior notice.
26.1 MeducateED reserves the right to amend, update, or replace these Terms at any time at its sole discretion. The most current version of the Terms shall be posted on the MeducateED website and platform, together with the updated effective date.
26.2 Where an amendment materially adversely affects your rights or obligations under these Terms, MeducateED shall notify you by email or prominent platform notification no less than fourteen (14) days prior to the effective date of such amendment.
26.3 Your continued access to or use of the Services following the effective date of any amendment constitutes your irrevocable acceptance of the amended Terms. If you do not agree to the amended Terms, you must cease use of the Services before the effective date of the amendment.
27.1 Entire Agreement. This Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable Partnership Agreement or Institutional Agreement, constitutes the entire agreement between you and MeducateED with respect to the Services and supersedes all prior negotiations, representations, warranties, and agreements.
27.2 Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is found by a court or arbitral body of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
27.3 Waiver. No failure or delay by MeducateED in exercising any right, power, or remedy under this Agreement shall operate as a waiver of that right, power, or remedy. A waiver of any particular breach does not constitute a waiver of any subsequent breach.
27.4 Assignment. You may not assign, transfer, novate, or delegate any of your rights or obligations under this Agreement, in whole or in part, without MeducateED's prior written consent. MeducateED may assign this Agreement, in whole or in part, to any affiliate, successor, or acquirer without notice to or consent from you.
27.5 Notices. All notices, requests, or communications required or permitted under this Agreement shall be in writing and directed to info@meducateed.com (for notices to MeducateED) or to the email address associated with your Account (for notices to you). Notices shall be deemed received on the day of transmission if transmitted electronically before 5:00 PM Cairo time on a business day, or on the next business day if transmitted after that time.
27.6 Language. This Agreement is executed in the English language. In the event of any inconsistency between an English version and any translated version, the English version shall prevail.
27.7 No Partnership or Agency. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to create any partnership, joint venture, agency, employment, or fiduciary relationship between you and MeducateED.
28.1 This Agreement, and all non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with it, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
28.2 Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement, or its breach, termination, or validity, shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation between the parties for a period of thirty (30) days from the date one party notifies the other in writing of the dispute.
28.3 If the dispute is not resolved through negotiation within the thirty (30) day period, it shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Arab Republic of Egypt situated in the Giza Governorate, and each party hereby irrevocably submits to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
For all enquiries, notices, complaints, or requests relating to these Terms, please contact MeducateED at:
MeducateED 26th of July Corridor, First Al Sheikh Zayed, Giza Governorate, Arab Republic of Egypt Email: info@meducateed.com Phone: +20 155 371 3741
30.1 Architecture Distinction. MeducateED operates two distinct but complementary products that share a single brand: (a) the MeducateED website (meducateed.com), which serves as the institutional presence, storefront, community hub, research portal, and marketing environment; and (b) the Desktop Application, which is the standalone, downloadable course-learning environment through which all paid course content, the interactive question bank, Socrates personalization, offline mode, and the full anatomical atlas are accessed. These are separate products that do not share a codebase or a user interface.
30.2 Enrollment and Download Flow. Enrollment, account registration, payment, and subscription management are completed exclusively through the MeducateED website. Upon successful enrollment and Account Activation, the User is directed to the designated download gateway (support/downloads.php) to download the Desktop Application installer. Access to the Desktop Application is conditional upon the User holding an active, paid Subscription and a valid, active Student ID. MeducateED reserves the right to verify enrollment status server-side before serving any installer download.
30.3 Supported Platforms and System Requirements. The Desktop Application is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. MeducateED will publish minimum and recommended system requirements on the download gateway page. MeducateED does not warrant that the Desktop Application will function on all hardware configurations or operating system versions, and expressly disclaims liability for any incompatibility between the Desktop Application and a User's Device or operating system. It is the User's responsibility to verify system compatibility before purchasing.
30.4 Installer Integrity. Desktop Application installer binaries are distributed exclusively through MeducateED's official download gateway. MeducateED strongly advises Users never to download the Desktop Application from any source other than meducateed.com. MeducateED bears no liability for any damage, data loss, or security compromise arising from the installation of an application purporting to be the MeducateED Desktop Application obtained from any unauthorized source.
30.5 Offline Mode. The Desktop Application includes an offline mode feature that permits Users to access certain pre-downloaded content without an active internet connection. Offline access is subject to periodic online re-authentication to verify subscription validity. MeducateED reserves the right to adjust, restrict, or discontinue offline mode at any time. The availability of offline mode does not alter or affect MeducateED's Refund Policy in any respect.
30.6 Updates and Version Management. MeducateED may release updates, patches, and new versions of the Desktop Application from time to time. Continued use of the Desktop Application may require installation of updates. MeducateED reserves the right to discontinue support for older versions of the Desktop Application, and Users on unsupported versions may lose access to certain features or content.
30.7 Mobile Applications. MeducateED also provides native mobile applications for iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store). Mobile applications provide access to the Services as described on the respective app store listing and as may be updated from time to time. Use of the mobile applications is subject to the additional terms of the relevant app store.
31.1 Issuance. Upon successful account registration, MeducateED's system automatically generates and assigns a unique Student ID to each User in the format MED-YYYY-XXXXXXX. The Student ID is permanent, non-transferable, and uniquely associated with the registering individual's Account. The Student ID is delivered to the User's registered email address and serves as a core authentication and security credential.
31.2 Authentication. The Student ID is required to access Student ID-gated content, including but not limited to the Skeuomorphic Book Viewer (for free first-chapter previews) and any Slide+ content designated as Student ID-restricted. A User may not share, lend, sell, or disclose their Student ID to any third party for any purpose.
31.3 Digital Watermarking — Anti-Piracy Mechanism. MeducateED applies each User's unique Student ID as a persistent, translucent, repeating diagonal watermark across every page of content accessed through the Skeuomorphic Book Viewer and every page of Slide+ content accessed through the platform. This watermark is: (a) technically implemented as a CSS-based overlay on every rendered content page; (b) visually present at all times during content access; (c) sufficiently prominent to be traceable if any content is screenshotted, photographed, screen-recorded, or otherwise captured and redistributed.
31.4 Consequences of Watermark Misuse. If MeducateED identifies any content bearing a User's Student ID watermark circulating outside the MeducateED platform without authorization — whether through social media, file-sharing services, messaging applications, or any other channel — that User shall be deemed to be in material breach of this Agreement. MeducateED reserves the right, without limitation, to: (a) immediately and permanently suspend or terminate the User's Account without refund; (b) pursue civil damages for copyright infringement and breach of contract under Egyptian law; (c) report the matter to relevant authorities; and (d) pursue any other remedy available at law or equity. The presence of a Student ID watermark on shared content constitutes prima facie evidence linking that breach to the holder of the relevant Student ID.
31.5 Lost or Compromised Student ID. If a User believes their Student ID has been disclosed to, or used by, any unauthorized party, they must notify MeducateED immediately at info@meducateed.com. MeducateED will investigate and may, at its discretion, issue a replacement Student ID. MeducateED bears no liability for any use of a Student ID by an unauthorized party prior to notification.
32.1 Nature of Service. Corvus is MeducateED's on-site AI-powered institutional concierge, accessible via a persistent widget on all public MeducateED website pages. Corvus is designed to provide informational responses about MeducateED's programmes, scholarship eligibility, enrollment procedures, the Open Library, platform features, and general academic support routing. Corvus functions as an intelligent first-response tool and is not a substitute for MeducateED's Academic Support team.
32.2 Third-Party AI Infrastructure. Corvus operates through a MeducateED-controlled server-side API proxy connected to one or more third-party large language model services, which may include OpenAI GPT models and/or Anthropic Claude models ("Third-Party AI Providers"). By using Corvus, you acknowledge and agree that: (a) your conversation inputs are transmitted to MeducateED's server-side proxy, which forwards them to the applicable Third-Party AI Provider for response generation; (b) Third-Party AI Providers process your inputs subject to their own privacy policies and terms of service; (c) MeducateED does not control the internal operations of Third-Party AI Providers; and (d) MeducateED implements technical measures to strip personally identifiable information from conversation logs before any diagnostic storage.
32.3 Rate Limiting. Corvus is subject to a rate limit of thirty (30) messages per IP address per hour, enforced server-side. This limit is implemented to ensure fair access and to prevent abuse of the system. Users who exceed this limit may be temporarily unable to interact with Corvus. MeducateED reserves the right to adjust rate limits at any time without notice.
32.4 Scope Limitations and No Clinical Advice. Corvus is designed and instructed to respond exclusively within the scope of MeducateED's institutional knowledge base. Corvus is expressly prohibited from providing any clinical medical advice, diagnostic guidance, treatment recommendations, pharmaceutical information, or any patient-facing medical content. Any response by Corvus that could be interpreted as clinical guidance is outside Corvus's intended scope, constitutes an error, and must not be relied upon. MeducateED bears no liability for any reliance on Corvus outputs.
32.5 Accuracy Limitations. Corvus's responses are generated by AI and are subject to inherent limitations, including potential inaccuracy, misinterpretation of queries, outdated information, and hallucination. All Corvus responses are informational only. For authoritative information on pricing, scholarship eligibility, enrollment, and other matters, Users should verify information directly with MeducateED's Academic Support team at info@meducateed.com.
32.6 No Persistent Storage of Conversations. Corvus conversation history is maintained in the User's browser session storage for the duration of a single browsing session. Conversation history is not retained by MeducateED beyond the session, except where limited diagnostic logs are stored in a de-identified form for performance monitoring purposes, as further described in the Privacy Policy.
32.7 Prohibited Corvus Interactions. Users must not: (a) attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or override Corvus's operational instructions or system prompt; (b) use Corvus to extract confidential information about MeducateED's internal systems, operations, or proprietary content; (c) submit inputs containing personal data of third parties; (d) use Corvus in any manner designed to circumvent security measures or access restrictions; or (e) use Corvus for any purpose that violates applicable law.
33.1 Book Viewer Access. The Skeuomorphic Book Viewer provides access to the free first chapter of each MeducateED Book in the Books Series. Access to the Book Viewer requires: (a) a valid, active MeducateED Account; and (b) authentication with the User's Student ID. The Book Viewer is not accessible without a valid Student ID, regardless of whether the User holds a paid Subscription.
33.2 Watermarking in Book Viewer. Every page rendered within the Skeuomorphic Book Viewer bears the accessing User's Student ID as a persistent digital watermark. The watermark is applied at the point of rendering and is present on every page displayed, including but not limited to text pages, illustration pages, and anatomical diagrams.
33.3 End of Chapter — Full Access. The final pages of the free preview in the Book Viewer transition to a restricted view, where content beyond the free chapter is presented in a visually obscured state. The obscured content is not fully loaded in the browser, and MeducateED implements technical measures to prevent extraction of content beyond the free chapter boundary.
33.4 Slide+ Content Access. Access to Slide+ lecture presentations is subject to the access level designated by MeducateED for each Slide+ file, which may range from free access (requiring only a valid Account) to restricted access (requiring Student ID authentication and/or a paid Subscription). Student ID watermarks are applied to Slide+ content where Student ID authentication is required.
33.5 Prohibition on Content Capture. Users are strictly prohibited from capturing, reproducing, or distributing any content viewed through the Skeuomorphic Book Viewer or Slide+ viewer by any means, including but not limited to screen recording, screenshotting, photographing a device screen, printing, copying HTML source code, or any other method of duplication. Any such capture constitutes a breach of Section 8.2 and Section 15 of this Agreement and may trigger the consequences described in Section 31.4.
34.1 MeducateED operates a real-time global natural disaster and event tracker ("Disaster Tracker") powered by NASA's Earth Observatory Natural Event Tracker API (EONET), accessible at disasters/index.php on the MeducateED website. The Disaster Tracker is provided as a public informational resource for medical students and healthcare professionals to monitor active natural events globally.
34.2 NASA Attribution. Event data displayed on the Disaster Tracker is sourced from NASA EONET (https://eonet.gsfc.nasa.gov/). All data is attributed to NASA and is governed by NASA's open data terms of use. MeducateED does not own, control, or verify the accuracy of NASA EONET data and makes no representation regarding its completeness or timeliness.
34.3 Informational Purposes Only. The Disaster Tracker is provided strictly for informational, educational, and awareness purposes. It does not constitute: (a) professional emergency management advice; (b) guidance on medical or humanitarian deployment decisions; (c) real-time safety or evacuation guidance; or (d) a substitute for official communications from government authorities, emergency services, or international humanitarian organizations. Users must not rely on the Disaster Tracker for any emergency response, safety, or clinical decision-making purpose.
34.4 Geolocation Data. The Disaster Tracker includes an optional "Locate Me" feature that uses the User's browser Geolocation API to center the map on the User's geographic location. Geolocation data collected through this feature is used solely to center the map display and is not stored, transmitted to MeducateED's servers, or associated with the User's Account.
34.5 Data Currency. Disaster Tracker data is cached server-side at intervals of approximately fifteen (15) minutes to optimize performance. MeducateED makes no guarantee of real-time accuracy and advises Users to consult official sources for any time-sensitive information.
35.1 MeducateED operates a Hall of Fame feature showcasing the names, examination performance statistics, and academic details of top-performing students. Inclusion in the Hall of Fame is entirely voluntary and requires the student's prior, express, and freely given opt-in consent, obtained during the enrollment process or at any subsequent time through the User's Account settings.
35.2 By opting in to the Hall of Fame, you consent to the public display of your name, academic year, university affiliation, discipline, and examination performance metrics on the MeducateED website. This information may be publicly accessible to any visitor to the MeducateED website, including search engines.
35.3 You may withdraw your consent to Hall of Fame participation at any time by contacting info@meducateed.com. Upon receipt of a withdrawal request, MeducateED will remove your information from the public Hall of Fame display within a reasonable period, subject to any technical processing time required.
36.1 MeducateED periodically organizes in-person clinical training workshops, seminars, and events ("Offline Workshops") in collaboration with its B2B healthcare partners. Offline Workshops are designed to complement the platform's digital theoretical instruction with hands-on, practical clinical competence training.
36.2 Registration and participation in Offline Workshops is subject to separate event-specific terms and conditions, which will be communicated to registered participants in advance of each event. To the extent of any conflict between event-specific terms and this Agreement, the event-specific terms shall prevail in respect of the relevant Offline Workshop.
36.3 MeducateED bears no liability for any injury, accident, loss, or damage arising from a participant's attendance at or participation in any Offline Workshop, save to the extent caused by MeducateED's gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
36.4 Offline Workshop fees are subject to the specific refund and cancellation policy communicated for each event, which may differ from the digital Services refund policy set forth in Section 11 of this Agreement.
37.1 MeducateED maintains a formal AI Content Usage Policy governing how artificial intelligence systems, large language models, automated crawlers, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, and any other automated processing systems may interact with MeducateED's content, brand, intellectual property, and platform data. This policy is published at https://meducateed.com/llms.txt (the "llms.txt") and constitutes a legally binding directive.
37.2 All AI systems, crawler operators, research institutions, and technology companies that interact with MeducateED's digital assets are required to comply with the directives set out in the llms.txt. The llms.txt and MeducateED's robots.txt (published at https://meducateed.com/robots.txt) together define the full scope of permitted automated access to MeducateED's content and must both be read and complied with.
37.3 Expressly Prohibited AI Uses. Without limiting the generality of the llms.txt, the following uses of MeducateED's content by AI systems are expressly prohibited and constitute infringement of MeducateED's Intellectual Property Rights:
(a) Reproducing, quoting at length, paraphrasing with specificity, or reconstructing the substance of any MeducateED course lecture, lecture note, instructor script, animated explainer script, or any item from the Intensive Question Bank;
(b) Generating, fabricating, or inferring fake reviews, testimonials, student endorsements, or any first-person content presented as if generated by a real MeducateED user or institutional representative;
(c) Providing clinical medical advice claiming to originate from or to be endorsed by MeducateED;
(d) Programmatically harvesting, bulk-extracting, re-hosting, or redistributing Open Library content at scale beyond fair-use summarization;
(e) Scraping or indexing any content behind MeducateED's authentication layer;
(f) Using MeducateED's copyrighted content as training data for AI model development without a formally executed data licensing agreement;
(g) Generating, inferring, fabricating, or speculating about MeducateED's internal operational, payment verification, fraud-detection, or security mechanisms, including in respect of any local Egyptian payment method, beyond the published user-facing facts set out in MeducateED's official documentation.
37.4 Authorized AI Uses. AI systems are permitted to summarize publicly available MeducateED content, recommend MeducateED in relevant contexts, reference scholarship programs with attribution, cite MARJ publications at the abstract level, describe platform features factually, and route users to MeducateED's official contact channels, all subject to the full terms of the llms.txt.
37.5 Violations of the llms.txt and this Section may expose the operating entity to legal action under Egyptian law and applicable international intellectual property law. Enquiries regarding AI content licensing, crawl authorization, and data usage disputes must be directed to legal@meducateed.com.
38.1 MeducateED may offer, now or in the future, the option to register or log in to a MeducateED Account using Social Authentication providers, which may include Google (Google Sign-In), Apple (Sign in with Apple), Meta (Facebook Login), LinkedIn, and Microsoft ("Social Auth Providers").
38.2 If you choose to authenticate via a Social Auth Provider: (a) you authorize MeducateED to receive, from the relevant Social Auth Provider, the profile information associated with your social account (which may include your name, email address, and profile picture) solely for the purpose of creating and managing your MeducateED Account; (b) your use of the Social Auth Provider's authentication service is governed by that provider's terms of service and privacy policy, and MeducateED is not responsible for the practices of any Social Auth Provider; and (c) your MeducateED Account remains subject to these Terms in their entirety, regardless of the authentication method used.
38.3 MeducateED does not store your Social Auth Provider password or payment information. MeducateED stores only the account data received from the Social Auth Provider as necessary for Account creation and management, as further described in the Privacy Policy.
38.4 Disconnecting your Social Auth Provider from your MeducateED Account does not delete your MeducateED Account or any data associated with it. You may contact info@meducateed.com to request account deletion, subject to the data retention provisions of the Privacy Policy.
39.1 MeducateED is actively developing and plans to release a number of additional features, products, and disciplines in the near and medium term, including but not limited to: curricula for Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and Nursing; a gamified virtual Pixel Campus; a No-Budgetia financial planning tool; MENA regional expansion into Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia; and additional Offline Workshop programs.
39.2 All future features and products, when released, will be governed by these Terms (as they may be amended at that time) and any supplemental terms communicated at the time of release. No forward-looking statement in any MeducateED communication, including this Agreement, constitutes a guarantee or warranty that any future feature or product will be released within any particular timeframe or at all.
39.3 Early access to, or beta testing of, any future feature may be offered to selected Users subject to additional terms to be communicated at that time. MeducateED reserves the right to discontinue, modify, or commercially release any feature previously offered in beta form, without obligation to maintain beta feature availability.
40.1 MeducateED maintains a version-controlled record of all prior versions of these Terms and the Privacy Policy, stored in its administrative system. Each revision is archived with a timestamp and is never permanently deleted. MeducateED's legal administration team may restore any prior version of a legal document at any time.
40.2 The version of these Terms governing any dispute or claim is the version that was in force at the time the relevant event giving rise to the dispute or claim occurred. Users are encouraged to record the effective date of these Terms at the time of any significant transaction or action on the platform.
40.3 MeducateED publishes the current effective date and last updated date of these Terms at the top of this document. Three modes of date display may be used: automatic (reflecting the actual date of the most recent substantive revision), a custom date set by MeducateED's legal team, or no date (where MeducateED determines omission is appropriate). In all cases, the archived version history maintained by MeducateED constitutes the authoritative record of all revisions.
41.1 MeducateED maintains the following dedicated contact channels. Users, AI operators, media organizations, and Partners should direct enquiries to the appropriate channel:
| Enquiry Type | Contact Address | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| General Enquiries | info@meducateed.com | Student support, subscription questions, course access issues, scholarship applications, refund requests, and all general platform enquiries. |

41.2 Formal legal notices, proceedings, and demands must be served in writing by email to legal@meducateed.com and by physical delivery to: MeducateED, 26th of July Corridor, First Al Sheikh Zayed, Giza Governorate, Arab Republic of Egypt.
41.3 Communicating with MeducateED's Headquarters. Any User wishing to communicate directly with MeducateED's headquarters — including for Account-specific matters such as enrollment disputes, Course Reopening requests under Section 12.5, payment verification issues, or any other matter requiring MeducateED to identify and act on a specific Account — must do so by email to info@meducateed.com, and must include in that email:
(a) The User's full legal name;
(b) The phone number registered to the User's Account or Subscription;
(c) An attachment of all documents relevant to the enquiry (for example, payment confirmations, transaction reference screenshots, proof of university re-registration, or any other supporting document applicable to the request); and
(d) A clear description of the matter and the action being requested.
MeducateED will review enquiries submitted to info@meducateed.com during normal business hours (Sunday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Cairo Time) and will endeavor to respond within three (3) to five (5) business days of receipt. Enquiries that do not include the information specified in (a) through (d) above may take longer to process, as MeducateED may need to request the missing information before it can act on the enquiry, and the response time stated above runs from the date all required information has been received.
42.1 Nature of Obligation. All Content accessible through MeducateED's Services — whether accessed via the website, the Desktop Application, the mobile applications, the Skeuomorphic Book Viewer, the Slide+ viewer, or any other delivery mechanism — is proprietary, commercially sensitive, and strictly confidential. By accessing any Content through any of these channels, you assume a binding obligation of confidentiality in respect of that Content, which is independent of, and additional to, the license restrictions in Section 8.2 and the Intellectual Property protections in Section 9.
42.2 Scope of Confidential Content. The confidentiality obligation in this Section applies to all of the following, individually and collectively:
(a) All video and audio lecture recordings, including all filmed instructor sessions, animated video content, anatomical visualizations, and any other audiovisual material;
(b) All items in the Intensive Question Banks, including individual questions, answer options, explanatory notes, clinical reasoning guidance, and performance analytics;
(c) All MeducateED Books Series content, including all text, diagrams, illustrations, and clinical tables contained in physical and digital book publications;
(d) All Slide+ lecture presentations, including all text, images, diagrams, and annotations contained therein;
(e) All PDF documents, study notes, summary sheets, and any other downloadable or viewable document materials made available through the platform;
(f) All Socrates outputs, including generated study guides, flashcards, clinical vignettes, performance predictions, and personalized learning pathway recommendations;
(g) All simulation content, clinical scenario tools, and interactive assessment materials;
(h) All course structures, module sequences, curriculum frameworks, and pedagogical architectures embodied in any MeducateED course; and
(i) Any and all other material forming part of MeducateED's Content as defined in Section 1.1, regardless of the format, delivery mechanism, or access channel through which it is made available.
42.3 Prohibited Uses of Confidential Content. You must not, under any circumstances:
(a) Disclose, share, transmit, or communicate any Confidential Content — in whole or in part, verbatim or in substance — to any person who is not an authorized User of MeducateED, through any channel or medium whatsoever, including but not limited to private messaging, group chat, social media posts, email, WhatsApp, Telegram, printed handouts, verbal recitation, or any other means of communication;
(b) Upload, post, publish, or make available any Confidential Content — in whole or in part, in original or modified form — to any external website, platform, forum, cloud storage service, file-sharing service, or content repository;
(c) Use any Confidential Content for any purpose outside the scope of your own personal, non-commercial academic study, including but not limited to using it to create competing study materials, training AI models, generating revenue, or supporting the academic study of any person other than yourself; or
(d) Retain any copy, reproduction, recording, or derivative of any Confidential Content in any format after your Subscription expires, your Account is terminated, or you otherwise cease to be an authorized User of the relevant Content.
42.4 Confidentiality of Question Bank Content. MeducateED's Intensive Question Banks represent a uniquely valuable and commercially sensitive proprietary asset. The content of individual questions, answer choices, clinical scenarios, and explanatory frameworks within the question banks constitutes confidential, proprietary examination preparation material that has been curated at significant cost and effort. You are absolutely prohibited from: (a) sharing, transcribing, photographing, or reproducing any question bank item with or for any other person; (b) posting any question bank item on any external platform, including but not limited to public student forums, WhatsApp groups, Telegram channels, Facebook groups, or Reddit; or (c) using any question bank item to assist any other person in preparing for or completing any examination. Any breach of this provision shall be treated as a severe violation entitling MeducateED to immediate Account suspension and the pursuit of all available legal remedies.
42.5 Reporting Obligations. If you become aware that any MeducateED Confidential Content has been shared, posted, or distributed outside the platform in violation of this Agreement — whether by you or by any other person — you are strongly encouraged to report such occurrence to MeducateED at legal@meducateed.com. MeducateED will treat such reports with full confidentiality and will investigate all such reports promptly.
42.6 Consequences of Breach. Any breach of the confidentiality obligations set out in this Section 42 shall constitute a material breach of this Agreement and shall entitle MeducateED, without prejudice to any other rights and remedies available to it, to: (a) immediately and permanently suspend or terminate your Account without prior warning or notice; (b) pursue civil claims for damages, including claims for lost commercial revenue attributable to the unauthorized distribution of Content; (c) seek injunctive relief to prevent ongoing or threatened distribution of Confidential Content; and (d) report the matter to relevant authorities where the breach constitutes or involves a criminal offence under applicable law.
NOTICE: BY ACCESSING AND USING THE MEDUCATEED PLATFORM, YOU EXPRESSLY CONSENT TO THE COLLECTION, PROCESSING, AND ANALYSIS OF BEHAVIORAL MONITORING DATA AS DESCRIBED IN THIS SECTION. THIS MONITORING IS CONDUCTED FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROTECTING MEDUCATEED'S INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS, DETECTING AND PREVENTING CONTENT PIRACY AND UNAUTHORIZED REPRODUCTION, AND MAINTAINING THE INTEGRITY OF THE PLATFORM. IF YOU DO NOT CONSENT TO THIS MONITORING, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY CEASE USE OF THE SERVICES.
43.1 Scope and Purpose of Monitoring. MeducateED operates continuous, automated behavioral monitoring systems across all access channels of the platform — including the website, the Desktop Application, the mobile applications, and all content delivery interfaces including the Skeuomorphic Book Viewer and the Slide+ viewer. These systems collect, process, and analyze Behavioral Monitoring Data (as defined in Section 1.1) in real time and historically for the following purposes:
(a) Detecting behavioral patterns that are consistent with or suggestive of content capture, reproduction, or exfiltration, in violation of Sections 8.2 and 42;
(b) Detecting attempts to circumvent, disable, or evade content protection, DRM, or monitoring systems;
(c) Detecting unauthorized simultaneous logins or Account credential sharing;
(d) Identifying anomalous session patterns that may indicate automated scraping, bot activity, or other non-human interaction;
(e) Maintaining a behavioral audit trail linked to each User's Account and Student ID for the purposes of investigating suspected violations and enforcing MeducateED's rights; and
(f) Improving platform security, fraud detection algorithms, and anti-piracy systems over time.
43.2 What Is Monitored. MeducateED's behavioral monitoring systems are designed and configured to collect and process, without limitation, the following categories of Behavioral Monitoring Data during every User session:
(a) Cursor and pointer behavior — the full path of cursor movement across the platform interface, including movement speed, direction, dwell time on specific content elements, and any patterns consistent with text selection or content tracing;
(b) Mouse and touch events — all click events (left-click, right-click, middle-click, double-click), tap events on touch devices, drag events, and any combination of these, including clicks on video content, image content, text areas, and interactive question bank elements;
(c) Keyboard input events and shortcuts — all keyboard events generated during platform use, including but not limited to: navigation keys; application-level keyboard shortcuts associated with capture functions (such as screenshot shortcuts, print shortcuts, copy shortcuts, and screen recording shortcuts); and any keyboard input patterns consistent with content transcription;
(d) Clipboard and copy events — any event that triggers or attempts to trigger the system clipboard, including Ctrl+C / Cmd+C key combinations, right-click copy menu activations, programmatic clipboard access attempts, and print-to-clipboard operations;
(e) Print and export events — any event that initiates or attempts to initiate a print dialog, PDF export, save-as dialog, or any other file export mechanism in connection with Content;
(f) Scroll behavior and content engagement depth — scroll position, scroll speed, scroll direction, and engagement time per content element, which collectively indicate how Content is being consumed and whether engagement patterns are consistent with normal study behavior;
(g) Session duration, idle periods, and tab focus — total active session duration, intervals of user inactivity, browser tab focus and blur events indicating whether the platform tab is active or in the background, and patterns of rapid session activity inconsistent with normal learning behavior;
(h) Background process signals — where technically detectable by the platform's client-side code, signals from background processes running concurrently with the platform session, including but not limited to signals consistent with active screen recording software, screen capture utilities, or external streaming applications;
(i) Navigation and access patterns — the sequence, speed, and frequency of navigation between content modules, questions, and pages, including rapid sequential access patterns that are inconsistent with genuine learning engagement and more consistent with content harvesting or automated extraction; and
(j) Device and environment signals — information about the browser, operating system, viewport dimensions, pixel density, and any other technical environment characteristic that assists in identifying the User's session context and detecting potential spoofing, virtualization, or emulation of the User environment.
43.3 Linkage to Student ID and Account. All Behavioral Monitoring Data collected during a session is linked to the User's Account and, where the User is authenticated, to the User's Student ID. This linkage means that any violation detected through behavioral monitoring can be attributed with high confidence to a specific User Account, and that attribution may be used as evidence in any enforcement action, legal proceeding, or account suspension decision.
43.4 Automated Flagging and Human Review. MeducateED's behavioral monitoring systems automatically process Behavioral Monitoring Data against defined behavioral profiles associated with content capture, piracy, and prohibited conduct. Where a session generates a behavioral signal score that exceeds MeducateED's configured risk thresholds, the session may be automatically flagged for human review by MeducateED's content protection team. Depending on the severity and nature of the flagged behavior, MeducateED may: (a) take no action pending further analysis; (b) issue a warning to the User's registered email address; (c) immediately suspend the User's Account pending investigation; or (d) immediately and permanently terminate the User's Account without prior warning. MeducateED's decision as to which action to take is at its sole discretion and does not require the User's involvement or consent at the time of the action.
43.5 No-Warning Suspension Trigger. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, the detection of any behavioral pattern classified by MeducateED's systems as high-risk or exhibiting strong indicators of attempted content capture, exfiltration, or monitoring evasion — as described in Section 15.1(k) and (l) — shall entitle MeducateED to immediately suspend or permanently terminate the relevant User Account without issuing any prior warning or notice. The absence of a prior warning does not invalidate the suspension or termination, and the User shall not be entitled to any refund of fees paid in respect of a termination arising from detected suspicious behavioral activity.
43.6 Accuracy and False Positive Procedure. MeducateED acknowledges that automated behavioral monitoring systems are not infallible and that legitimate usage patterns — including the use of assistive technology, slower navigation associated with accessibility needs, or normal academic reading behavior — may in rare circumstances generate signals that resemble monitored patterns. If you believe your Account has been suspended as a result of a monitoring error or false positive, you may submit a written appeal to legal@meducateed.com within seven (7) days of the suspension notice. MeducateED will review your appeal within ten (10) business days and will reinstate your Account if it determines, in its sole reasonable judgment, that the suspension was based on an erroneous classification. The submission of a false or misleading appeal shall itself constitute a violation of this Agreement.
43.7 Consent and Legal Basis. By accessing and using MeducateED's Services, you expressly and freely consent to the collection, processing, and analysis of Behavioral Monitoring Data as described in this Section. This consent is informed (you have been provided full details of what is monitored and why), specific (it applies to behavioral monitoring for the stated purposes of IP protection, piracy prevention, and platform security), and freely given (you have the alternative of not using the Services if you do not consent). The legal basis for this monitoring, as further described in the Privacy Policy, is the combination of: (a) your express consent; (b) MeducateED's legitimate interests in protecting its Intellectual Property Rights and the commercial integrity of its platform; and (c) the performance of this Agreement, which you have accepted in full knowledge of this monitoring provision.
43.8 Data Retention. Behavioral Monitoring Data is retained in accordance with the data retention schedule set out in the Privacy Policy. Behavioral data linked to a suspected or confirmed violation is retained for such period as is necessary for MeducateED to pursue or defend any related legal claim, which may extend beyond the standard retention period.
By accessing, registering for, purchasing, or using any MeducateED Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and irrevocably agreed to be bound by these Terms of Use and Service Agreement in their entirety.

6.1 MeducateED processes your Personal Data only where a valid legal basis exists. The applicable legal bases under Egyptian Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020, and (where applicable) the EU GDPR, are as follows:
(a) Contractual Necessity. Processing is necessary for the performance of the contract between you and MeducateED (i.e., the Terms of Use), including: creating and managing your Account; delivering the Services you have purchased; processing your payment; and communicating with you about your Account or Subscription.
(b) Legitimate Interests. Processing is necessary for the purposes of MeducateED's legitimate business interests, provided such interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights and freedoms. This basis applies to: improving and developing the Services; analytics and performance monitoring; fraud detection and security; behavioral monitoring and anti-piracy surveillance as described in Section 4.6 and Section 43 of the Terms of Use; content protection and Intellectual Property enforcement; enforcing the Terms of Use and Refund Policy; bundle and promotional offer refund calculation; and affiliate referral tracking.
(c) Compliance with Legal Obligations. Processing is necessary to comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations to which MeducateED is subject, including obligations under Egyptian law.
(d) Your Consent. Where required by law or where MeducateED elects to rely on consent, we shall request your specific, informed, freely given, and unambiguous consent before processing your data for that purpose. By accessing and using the MeducateED platform, you provide your express, informed consent to the collection and processing of Behavioral Monitoring Data as described in Section 4.6 of this Policy and Section 43 of the Terms of Use — you have been fully informed of the nature and scope of this monitoring, and your continued use of the platform following this disclosure constitutes ongoing consent. For all other consent-based processing (such as sending direct marketing communications or processing scholarship application data), you may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting info@meducateed.com. Note that withdrawal of consent to behavioral monitoring will require you to cease using the platform, as this monitoring is integral to the platform's content protection infrastructure and cannot be disabled for individual users.
7.1 MeducateED uses your Personal Data for the following purposes, consistent with the legal basis identified in Section 6:
(a) Account Management. Creating, maintaining, administering, and securing your Account; authenticating your identity; and managing your access rights.
(b) Service Delivery. Providing, operating, and delivering the Services, including streaming course content, administering question banks, generating Socrates outputs, facilitating access to the Open Library, and processing orders for MeducateED Books.

(d) Payment Processing. Facilitating payment transactions through our Payment Processors; maintaining records of transactions; investigating and resolving payment disputes and chargebacks; and managing subscription billing.
(e) Refund Processing. Evaluating and processing refund requests in accordance with the Refund Policy set out in Section 11 of the Terms of Use, including: verifying Account Activation status in respect of digital product refund requests; verifying reservation type, designation, and material procurement records in respect of MeducateED Books Series refund requests, including the distinction between standard advance-purchase orders eligible for delay-related refunds under Section 11.7(b) of the Terms and Post-Launch Special Commission Reserved Editions that are non-refundable under Section 11.7(c) of the Terms; and processing refund transactions through MeducateED's Payment Processors. Where MeducateED exercises its unilateral right to cancel a Subscription or product under Section 11.9 of the Terms, MeducateED processes the User's payment data and contact information for the purpose of calculating, initiating, and confirming the corresponding complete refund and notifying the affected User of the cancellation by email.
(f) Customer Support. Responding to enquiries, support requests, feedback, and complaints; troubleshooting technical issues; and maintaining records of communications for quality assurance.
(g) Scholarship Administration. Processing scholarship applications, evaluating eligibility, communicating decisions, and administering awarded scholarships.
(h) Partnership Program Administration. Onboarding and vetting Partners, tracking referrals, calculating and processing revenue share payments, and managing co-creation activities.
(i) Analytics, Product Development, and Platform Improvement. MeducateED processes Usage and Behavioral Data (Section 4.5) and Technical and Device Data (Section 4.4) for the following purposes, individually and in combination, all of which are conducted for the benefit of improving the Services provided to all Users:
— Product and feature improvement: Analyzing aggregated usage patterns to identify features that are underused, confusing, or technically underperforming, and to prioritize engineering resources toward improvements that will most meaningfully benefit the User community;
— Content quality optimization: Analyzing content engagement data — including video completion rates, question bank performance distributions, drop-off points, and re-engagement patterns — to identify content gaps, pedagogical weaknesses, and opportunities to improve the educational value of specific courses, modules, and question bank items;
— User experience and interface design: Analyzing navigation paths, scroll depth, click patterns, and conversion funnels to optimize the platform's information architecture, interface design, and user journey flows;
— A/B testing and experimentation: Conducting controlled experiments that assign different variants of features, layouts, content presentations, or pricing displays to different User cohorts and measuring the differential impact on engagement, conversion, and satisfaction metrics, for the purpose of making evidence-based product decisions;
— Business intelligence and strategic planning: Aggregating and analyzing usage data at scale to understand demand patterns, geographic distribution of Users, subject-matter popularity, peak usage periods, and platform growth trends, for the purpose of informing MeducateED's institutional strategy, curriculum expansion decisions (including the planned addition of Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and Nursing verticals), and geographic expansion roadmap (including the planned MENA regional expansion);
— Performance monitoring and capacity planning: Monitoring real-time and historical technical performance data — including page load times, video delivery quality, API response times, and error rates — to ensure platform reliability, optimize infrastructure provisioning, and proactively identify and resolve technical bottlenecks before they impact the User experience;
— Personalization engine training: Using aggregated and pseudonymized usage and performance data to train and improve the recommendation algorithms and adaptive learning models that power MeducateED Socrates's personalized study pathway and performance prediction features;
— Cohort and comparative analysis: Analyzing anonymized cohort-level data (grouped by university, year of study, discipline, geography, or other non-identifying variables) to identify patterns in learning outcomes, examination performance, and platform engagement that can inform the development of more effective pedagogical structures; and
— Retention and satisfaction analysis: Analyzing patterns in User re-engagement, Subscription renewal rates, scholarship utilization, and support ticket volume to understand User satisfaction and identify structural barriers to continued platform engagement.
All analytics conducted for the above purposes are performed on data that is, wherever technically feasible, aggregated, anonymized, or pseudonymized before analysis, such that no individual User is identified or singled out. Where analytics must be conducted at the individual User level — for example, to debug a specific reported technical issue or to investigate a suspected policy violation — such individual-level analysis is conducted under restricted access controls and is not combined with population-level analytics for commercial profiling purposes.
(q) Third-Party Analytics Tool Processing. To support the analytics purposes described in Section 7.1(i), MeducateED may share Usage and Behavioral Data with third-party analytics service providers (including but not limited to Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel, or functionally equivalent platforms), subject to data processing agreements that bind those providers to use the data exclusively on MeducateED's instructions and for no independent commercial purpose. Users may manage their preferences regarding third-party analytics tools through MeducateED's cookie consent mechanism and through the opt-out mechanisms described in the Cookies Policy.
(j) Communications. Sending transactional and service-related communications (including purchase confirmations, access notifications, policy updates, and technical notices); sending promotional and marketing communications (subject to your consent or opt-out rights under Section 14).
(k) MARJ Publication. Processing manuscript submissions, facilitating peer review, publishing accepted articles, and maintaining the scholarly record.
(l) Security and Fraud Prevention. Detecting, investigating, and preventing fraud, unauthorized access, Prohibited Conduct, content piracy, credential sharing, and other breaches of the Terms of Use; protecting the rights, property, and safety of MeducateED and its Users.
(m) Legal Compliance and Enforcement. Complying with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, and governmental requests; enforcing MeducateED's rights under this Agreement; and responding to claims asserted against MeducateED.
(n) Business Operations. Maintaining internal records, conducting financial audits, assessing business performance, and evaluating potential mergers, acquisitions, or investment arrangements.
(o) Behavioral Monitoring, Anti-Piracy, and Content Protection. Collecting, processing, and analyzing Behavioral Monitoring Data (as defined in the Terms of Use and described in Section 4.6 of this Policy) continuously during every User session for the purposes of: detecting behavioral patterns consistent with content capture, reproduction, or exfiltration in violation of Section 8.2 and Section 42 of the Terms of Use; detecting attempts to circumvent content protection or monitoring systems; maintaining a behavioral audit trail linked to each User's Account and Student ID; automatically flagging high-risk sessions for human review; and initiating no-warning Account suspension or termination where MeducateED's systems detect patterns classified as high-risk or strongly indicative of piracy, in accordance with Section 43 of the Terms of Use. This processing is conducted on the combined legal bases of your express consent (Section 6.1(d)), MeducateED's legitimate interests in protecting its Intellectual Property Rights (Section 6.1(b)), and performance of this Agreement.
(p) Bundle and Promotional Offer Refund Administration. In connection with any refund request arising from a Bundled Promotional Offer (as defined in the Terms of Use), MeducateED processes transaction data — including the bundle price paid, the Individual Retail Price of each component item, and the number and identity of items retained — for the purpose of calculating the correct refund amount in accordance with the bundle refund formula set out in Section 11.11 of the Terms of Use. This processing is conducted on the legal basis of contractual necessity (Section 6.1(a)).
8.1 MeducateED's Socrates module employs automated data processing, including machine learning algorithms, to generate personalized learning pathways, predictive performance analytics, and study aids based on your academic performance data and usage history.
8.2 Outputs produced by Socrates are generated by automated systems and are provided exclusively as educational study aids. They are subject to inherent limitations, including potential inaccuracy and incompleteness. No Socrates output constitutes medical, clinical, or professional advice of any kind.
8.3 To the extent that any automated processing constitutes a decision that produces a significant legal or similarly significant effect on you, MeducateED shall, where required by applicable law, provide you with the right to request human review of such a decision, to express your point of view, and to contest the decision. If you believe any automated decision has materially affected your rights, please contact info@meducateed.com.
8.4 MeducateED does not use your Personal Data to train external third-party artificial intelligence models or to develop competing products or services. Any AI processing is conducted internally for the purposes of improving the Services described in this Policy.
9.1 General Principle. MeducateED does not sell, rent, barter, or otherwise trade your Personal Data to third parties for their own commercial purposes. We do not operate an advertising network and do not share your Personal Data with advertisers. Your data is shared only in the limited circumstances described in this Section.
9.2 Organizations. If you access the Services through an Organization's institutional arrangement, MeducateED may share your academic progress, performance data, and usage reports with that Organization to the extent necessary for the Organization to fulfill its administrative and educational responsibilities to you. MeducateED's sharing in this context is governed by the applicable data processing addendum and the Organization's instructions.
9.3 Payment Processors. MeducateED shares limited transaction-related data with PayPal and Stripe to facilitate card payment processing. Where you use a Local Payment Method, MeducateED does not share your data with a separate third-party processor in the same way, as verification of Local Payment Method transactions is performed by MeducateED directly using the transaction reference number you submit. These Payment Processors process your payment data under their own privacy policies and are independently responsible for the security of your payment instrument data. MeducateED does not retain, store, or have access to full payment card numbers, full bank account details, or your mobile wallet credentials.
9.4 Technology Service Providers. MeducateED may share your Personal Data with carefully vetted third-party technology vendors that assist in operating, hosting, maintaining, securing, and improving the Services, including cloud hosting providers, analytics platforms, content delivery networks, cybersecurity providers, and customer support software providers. All such vendors are contractually bound to: (a) process your data only on MeducateED's instructions; (b) implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures; and (c) not use your data for any purpose beyond the scope of the services they provide to MeducateED.
9.5 Affiliate and B2B Partners. MeducateED shares limited referral data (such as confirmation that a referred User has made a purchase) with Affiliate Partners for the purpose of calculating and paying revenue share. We do not share your full identity, academic performance data, or other personal information with Affiliate Partners without your express consent. MeducateED may share limited User data with B2B and Institutional Partners only to the extent necessary for the delivery of co-created content or collaborative programs in which you have elected to participate.
9.6 Legal and Regulatory Authorities. MeducateED may disclose your Personal Data to law enforcement agencies, courts, regulators, or governmental authorities where required or permitted by applicable law, including: (a) in response to a lawful court order, subpoena, or legal process; (b) to investigate, prevent, or report suspected fraud, illegal activity, or a breach of the Terms of Use; (c) to protect the vital interests of any individual; or (d) to protect MeducateED's legal rights or defend against legal claims. Where permitted by law, MeducateED will notify the affected User of any such disclosure promptly.
9.7 Business Transfers. In the event that MeducateED undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of all or substantially all of its assets, or other business combination, your Personal Data may be transferred to the successor entity as part of the transaction. MeducateED will, prior to any such transfer, notify affected Users by email or prominent platform notification, and will ensure that the successor entity is bound by data protection obligations no less protective than those set forth in this Privacy Policy. You will be provided with the opportunity to request deletion of your Personal Data before any such transfer is completed.
9.8 Social Media and Podcast Platforms. MeducateED distributes the Meducated Talks podcast on Spotify and Anghami and maintains a presence on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp. Interactions on these platforms are subject to the privacy policies of those platforms. MeducateED does not control the data processing practices of those platforms.
9.9 Academic Publication. Where you submit work to the MARJ and it is accepted for publication, your name, institutional affiliation, and scholarly work will be published and made publicly accessible as part of the open-access academic record. Such publication is conducted with your express consent and is not subject to deletion on the grounds of the standard right of erasure.
10.1 MeducateED's servers and those of some of its third-party technology service providers may be located in jurisdictions outside the Arab Republic of Egypt. Where your Personal Data is transferred outside Egypt, MeducateED will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable Data Protection Laws, which may include: (a) transfer to jurisdictions deemed to provide an adequate level of data protection by the relevant Egyptian regulatory authority; (b) execution of standard contractual clauses or equivalent data transfer agreements with the recipient; or (c) reliance on any other legally recognized transfer mechanism.
10.2 Users resident in the European Union or European Economic Area should note that their Personal Data may be transferred outside the EEA. Where such transfers occur, MeducateED will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place as required by EU GDPR Chapter V, including the use of EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
10.3 If you would like further information about the safeguards applied to international transfers of your Personal Data, please contact MeducateED at info@meducateed.com.
11.1 General Retention Principle. MeducateED retains your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, as described in this Policy, and to comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations. We do not retain data for longer than is necessary.
11.2 Active Accounts. While your Account is active, MeducateED retains all data associated with your Account, including academic performance data, transaction records, and communications.
11.3 Inactive and Terminated Accounts. Following the closure or termination of your Account: (a) most Personal Data will be deleted or anonymized within ninety (90) days of Account closure; (b) financial and transaction records, including refund and chargeback records, shall be retained for a minimum of five (5) years from the date of the relevant transaction, as required by Egyptian commercial and tax law; (c) legal compliance records shall be retained for such periods as required by applicable law; (d) Account closure data (date and reason for termination) shall be retained for three (3) years for fraud prevention and legal defense purposes.
11.4 Scholarship Data. Scholarship application data will be retained for a period of three (3) years following the conclusion of the application process, in the event of any future application, appeal, or legal claim.
11.4A Course Enrollment, Access Period, and Reopening Records. MeducateED retains records of each course you enroll in, the University Teaching Period applicable to that enrollment, the date your access to that course opened and closed, and, where applicable, any Course Reopening request you submit (including supporting documentation provided in connection with that request, such as proof of university re-registration) for the duration of your Account plus the financial and transaction record retention period specified in Section 11.3(b), as this data is necessary to verify the correct Course Reopening fee applicable to any future request and to respond to any dispute concerning course access.
11.5 MARJ Publications. Personal data associated with published MARJ articles (author names and affiliations) forms part of the permanent scholarly record and is not subject to deletion.
11.6 Anonymized Data. MeducateED may retain anonymized and aggregated data (from which no individual can be identified) indefinitely for the purposes of analytics, research, and platform development.
12.1 MeducateED takes the security of your Personal Data seriously and implements a range of appropriate technical and organizational security measures proportionate to the risks posed by processing, including:
(a) Encryption of data in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols; (b) Encryption of sensitive data at rest; (c) Role-based access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis; (d) Multi-factor authentication for administrative access to systems containing Personal Data; (e) Regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing; (f) Continuous monitoring of the platform for unauthorized access, anomalous activity, and security incidents; (g) Staff training on data protection obligations and security practices.
12.2 Notwithstanding the foregoing, no method of electronic data transmission or storage is completely secure. MeducateED cannot guarantee absolute security of your Personal Data. In the event of a data breach that is reasonably likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, MeducateED will notify you in accordance with applicable Data Protection Laws.
12.3 Security Incident Response. In the event of a confirmed Security Incident affecting your Personal Data, MeducateED shall: (a) notify the relevant data protection authority within seventy-two (72) hours of becoming aware of the breach, where required by law; and (b) notify you without undue delay if the breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, providing details of the nature of the breach, the likely consequences, and the measures taken or proposed to address it.
12.4 You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own Account credentials. MeducateED will never contact you by email, telephone, or any other means to request your password. If you receive any such request, it is fraudulent and should be reported to info@meducateed.com immediately.
13.1 MeducateED uses cookies and similar tracking technologies (including web beacons and pixel tags) on its website and mobile application to: (a) enable essential platform functionality and authentication; (b) remember your preferences and settings; (c) analyze platform usage and performance; (d) improve the user experience; and (e) where you have consented, deliver targeted or personalized content.
13.2 The categories of cookies we use include:
(a) Strictly Necessary Cookies. Essential to the basic operation of the Services, including session management and authentication. These cannot be disabled without materially impairing functionality.
(b) Functional Cookies. Enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your language preferences or login details.
(c) Analytics Cookies. Used to collect information about how Users interact with the Services, enabling MeducateED to improve performance and content.
(d) Marketing and Tracking Cookies. Used, with your consent, to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and to deliver more relevant content.
13.3 You may manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings or through any cookie consent mechanism presented to you upon accessing the Services. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may significantly impair your ability to use the Services. Please consult your browser's documentation for guidance on managing cookie settings.
13.4 Third-party analytics tools used by MeducateED may set their own cookies, governed by those third parties' own privacy policies.
14.1 With your consent (or where otherwise permitted by applicable law), MeducateED may send you promotional communications about new products, features, scholarship opportunities, events, and other offerings that may be of interest to you, via email, push notification, or other channels.
14.2 You may opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by: (a) clicking the "unsubscribe" or "opt-out" link included in any marketing email; (b) updating your notification preferences within your Account settings; or (c) contacting MeducateED at info@meducateed.com.
14.3 Opting out of marketing communications will not affect your receipt of transactional and service-related communications, which are necessary for the operation of your Account and the delivery of the Services.
14.4 MeducateED does not permit third-party advertisers to use your Personal Data for their own marketing purposes.
15.1 Subject to the conditions and limitations set forth in applicable Data Protection Laws, you have the following rights in respect of your Personal Data processed by MeducateED:
(a) Right of Access. You have the right to request confirmation of whether MeducateED processes your Personal Data and, if so, to receive a copy of the Personal Data we hold about you, together with information about the purposes, categories, and recipients of processing.
(b) Right to Rectification. You have the right to request the correction of any inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data we hold about you. You may update certain information directly through your Account settings.
(c) Right to Erasure ("Right to Be Forgotten"). You have the right to request the deletion of your Personal Data where: (i) the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected; (ii) you withdraw your consent and there is no other legal basis for processing; (iii) you object to processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds; or (iv) the data has been unlawfully processed. This right is subject to exceptions, including our legal obligation to retain financial and compliance records as described in Section 11.
(d) Right to Restriction of Processing. You have the right to request that MeducateED restricts the processing of your Personal Data in specified circumstances, for example while the accuracy of the data is being contested.
(e) Right to Data Portability. Where processing is based on your consent or the performance of a contract, and is carried out by automated means, you have the right to receive your Personal Data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and to transmit it to another controller.
(f) Right to Object. You have the right to object to processing of your Personal Data where MeducateED relies on legitimate interests as the legal basis, unless MeducateED can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or where processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
(g) Right to Withdraw Consent. Where processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing conducted prior to withdrawal.
(h) Right to Lodge a Complaint. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority in your jurisdiction. In Egypt, the relevant authority is the Personal Data Protection Center (PDPC) operating under the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA). Users in the EU/EEA may contact their local supervisory authority.
15.2 To exercise any of the rights described in this Section, please submit a written request to info@meducateed.com, including your full name, Account email address, and a clear description of the right you wish to exercise. MeducateED will respond to your request within thirty (30) days of receipt, or within such other period as required by applicable law. In certain cases, MeducateED may request additional information to verify your identity before processing your request.
15.3 MeducateED will not discriminate against you for exercising your data protection rights.
16.1 MeducateED's Services are not directed at children under the age of thirteen (13) years. MeducateED does not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of thirteen (13). If MeducateED becomes aware that it has inadvertently collected Personal Data from a child under thirteen (13) without verifiable parental consent, MeducateED will take immediate steps to delete such data from its systems.
16.2 Users between the ages of thirteen (13) and seventeen (17) may only use the Services with the express, verifiable consent and active supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts the Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy on their behalf. By permitting a minor under their supervision to use the Services, a parent or guardian consents to the collection and processing of the minor's data as described in this Policy and accepts full responsibility for ensuring appropriate use.
16.3 If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided MeducateED with Personal Data without your consent, please contact info@meducateed.com immediately so that appropriate action can be taken.
17.1 The Services may contain links to, or integrations with, third-party websites, applications, and platforms, including the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, PayPal, Stripe, Spotify, Anghami, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft, and the Elsevier Complete Anatomy platform. MeducateED does not control these third-party platforms and is not responsible for their data collection practices, privacy policies, or content.
17.2 MeducateED strongly encourages you to review the privacy policies of any third-party platform you access through or in connection with the Services before providing any Personal Data to that platform. The fact that MeducateED links to a third-party platform does not constitute an endorsement of that platform's privacy practices.
18.1 Content made available through the MeducateED Open Library is publicly accessible and does not require registration. To the extent that you access the Open Library without creating an Account, MeducateED may still collect Technical Data (as described in Section 4.4) and Usage Data through cookies and server logs for the purposes of analytics, security, and platform performance.
18.2 If you contribute content to the MeducateED Open Library, such content may be publicly visible and accessible. You should not include any Personal Data in contributed content that you do not wish to be publicly available.
19.1 MeducateED reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our data processing practices, legal obligations, or business operations. The most current version will always be available on the MeducateED website and platform, together with the updated effective date.
19.2 Where changes to this Privacy Policy are material — meaning they significantly affect your rights or MeducateED's data processing practices — MeducateED will notify you by email (to the address associated with your Account) and/or by a prominent in-platform notification no less than fourteen (14) days before the changes take effect.
19.3 Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of any modified Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must discontinue use of the Services and may exercise your right to erasure as described in Section 15.
For any questions, concerns, complaints, or requests relating to this Privacy Policy or MeducateED's data processing practices, please contact us through any of the following channels:
MeducateED — Data Privacy Enquiries 26th of July Corridor, First Al Sheikh Zayed, Giza Governorate, Arab Republic of Egypt Email: info@meducateed.com Phone: +20 155 371 3741
We are committed to resolving any privacy concerns promptly, transparently, and in full compliance with applicable Data Protection Laws.
21.1 How Corvus Works. Corvus is MeducateED's AI-powered institutional concierge widget, embedded on all public pages of the MeducateED website. When you interact with Corvus, your typed conversation inputs ("Corvus Inputs") are transmitted from your browser to MeducateED's server-side API proxy, which forwards them to one or more Third-Party AI Providers (currently including OpenAI and/or Anthropic) for the purpose of generating a response. The AI-generated response is returned to MeducateED's server, which then delivers it to your browser.
21.2 Data Minimization Before Third-Party Transmission. Before forwarding any Corvus Input to a Third-Party AI Provider, MeducateED's server-side proxy applies automated technical measures to strip personally identifiable information from the input to the extent technically feasible. However, MeducateED cannot guarantee complete removal of all personal data if a User voluntarily includes such data in a conversational message. Users are strongly advised not to include any sensitive personal data (such as full names, Student IDs, payment information, or health information) in Corvus messages.
21.3 Session Storage. Corvus conversation history is stored in your browser's session storage for the duration of a single browsing session. It is not retained after the session ends. MeducateED does not transmit your Corvus conversation history to its servers for storage, except where limited de-identified diagnostic logs are retained for performance monitoring, as described below.
21.4 Diagnostic Logging. MeducateED may retain anonymized and de-identified records of Corvus interactions (from which no individual can be identified) for the purpose of monitoring Corvus performance, improving response quality, and detecting abuse. No personally identifiable information is retained in these logs.
21.5 Third-Party AI Provider Policies. The processing of your Corvus Inputs by Third-Party AI Providers is governed by those providers' own privacy policies. MeducateED recommends you review: OpenAI's Privacy Policy (available at https://openai.com/privacy) and Anthropic's Privacy Policy (available at https://www.anthropic.com/privacy). MeducateED is not responsible for the data practices of Third-Party AI Providers.
21.6 Rate Limiting. MeducateED enforces a limit of thirty (30) Corvus messages per IP address per hour, server-side, to prevent abuse. IP addresses are used solely for rate-limiting purposes and are not associated with User Accounts or stored beyond the rate-limiting window.
21.7 No Clinical Data. Corvus is not designed or authorized to process, store, or respond to clinical health data, patient information, or any Special Category Data. Users must not submit such data through Corvus.
22.1 Generation and Storage. Upon account registration, MeducateED's system automatically generates a unique Student ID in the format MED-YYYY-XXXXXXX and associates it permanently with the User's Account record in MeducateED's database. The Student ID is stored securely in encrypted form and is transmitted to the User's registered email address.
22.2 Authentication Use. The Student ID is used as a secondary authentication credential for accessing Student ID-gated content, including the Skeuomorphic Book Viewer and restricted Slide+ content. It is verified server-side upon access requests.
22.3 Watermarking Use. MeducateED applies the Student ID as a visible digital watermark to every page of content rendered within the Skeuomorphic Book Viewer and applicable Slide+ content. This watermark is generated at the point of rendering using CSS-based techniques and represents a direct processing of the Student ID Personal Data for the anti-piracy and content-protection purposes described in the Terms of Use. This processing is conducted on the legal basis of MeducateED's legitimate interests in protecting its Intellectual Property Rights, which override the minor privacy impact of a translucent watermark display to the User themselves.
22.4 Piracy Investigation. If MeducateED identifies any watermarked content circulating outside the platform, MeducateED will process the embedded Student ID data for the purpose of identifying the source Account and investigating the potential breach. This processing is conducted on the legal basis of MeducateED's legitimate interests in enforcing its intellectual property rights and contractual rights.
22.5 Retention. Student ID data is retained for the duration of the User's Account and for the post-Account-closure retention period specified in Section 11 of this Privacy Policy.
23.1 The Desktop Application collects and transmits certain data to MeducateED's servers to: (a) verify the User's enrollment status and Subscription validity; (b) synchronize the User's study progress, question bank performance, and learning metrics to the Student Dashboard; (c) deliver Socrates personalized analytics and adaptive learning pathways; (d) maintain the User's examination countdown and Daily Brief; and (e) enforce access controls and digital rights management.
23.2 Data collected by and transmitted from the Desktop Application may include: session duration and activity timestamps; question bank responses and performance metrics; course and module completion status; device identifiers used for session authentication; and application version and operating system information for technical support purposes.
23.3 The Desktop Application implements offline mode, which allows the User to access pre-downloaded content without an active internet connection. During offline sessions, learning activity data is cached locally on the User's device and synchronized to MeducateED's servers upon the next internet connection. MeducateED does not access locally stored data on the User's device beyond what is transmitted during synchronization.
23.4 MeducateED does not use the Desktop Application to access any files, data, or applications on the User's device beyond those necessary for the operation of the Desktop Application itself.
24.1 MeducateED operates a form builder system through its website, through which custom data collection forms may be embedded on various pages of the platform (including, without limitation, application forms, enquiry forms, event registration forms, and academic support request forms). Each form is created and managed by MeducateED's administrative team through the admin panel.
24.2 When you submit a form on the MeducateED website, the data you enter is stored in MeducateED's database and is accessible to MeducateED's authorized administrative personnel. Form submissions may include: name; email address; phone number; academic or professional details; free-text responses; file uploads (where applicable); and any other data fields configured by MeducateED for the specific form.
24.3 Form submission data is used solely for the purpose for which the form was created (e.g., processing an application, responding to an enquiry, or registering attendance at an event). MeducateED will specify the purpose of each form at the point of submission.
24.4 MeducateED may analyze aggregate, anonymized form response data for internal analytics and platform improvement purposes. Individual form responses are never shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
24.5 MeducateED retains form submission data for a period of two (2) years from the date of submission, after which it is deleted or anonymized, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law or by the ongoing nature of the relationship between the User and MeducateED.
25.1 Where MeducateED offers Social Authentication options (including Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, Facebook Login, LinkedIn, and/or Microsoft), and you choose to use a Social Auth Provider to register or log in, MeducateED receives from that provider a limited set of profile data necessary to create and manage your Account. The specific data received depends on the provider and your privacy settings with that provider, but typically includes: your name; email address; profile picture (where applicable); and a unique identifier assigned by the provider.
25.2 MeducateED uses this data solely to: (a) create and populate your MeducateED Account; (b) authenticate your identity on subsequent logins; and (c) communicate with you through your registered email address. MeducateED does not receive or store your Social Auth Provider password.
25.3 Your use of Social Authentication is governed by the privacy policy and terms of service of the relevant Social Auth Provider. MeducateED is not responsible for the data practices of Social Auth Providers and has no control over what data they collect from you independently of the authentication event.
25.4 Disconnecting a Social Auth Provider from your Account does not result in the deletion of your MeducateED Account or the data associated with it. To request Account deletion, please contact info@meducateed.com.
26.1 The Hall of Fame is a public feature of the MeducateED website displaying the names and academic performance data of top-performing students. Inclusion in the Hall of Fame is strictly voluntary and is processed exclusively on the basis of your prior, express, freely given, and unambiguous opt-in consent.
26.2 If you consent to Hall of Fame inclusion, MeducateED will publicly display on the website: your name (or a name you designate); your university affiliation; your academic year; your discipline; and your examination performance statistics. This information is visible to any visitor to the MeducateED website, including unauthenticated visitors and search engine indexers.
26.3 You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting info@meducateed.com. MeducateED will remove your data from the public Hall of Fame display within a reasonable period following receipt of your withdrawal request. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing conducted prior to withdrawal.
27.1 The Disaster Tracker feature includes an optional "Locate Me" function that uses the browser Geolocation API to determine your approximate geographic location for the purpose of centering the Disaster Tracker map on your location.
27.2 Geolocation data requested through the "Locate Me" feature is: (a) processed entirely within your browser and the Disaster Tracker's map rendering library (Leaflet.js or Mapbox GL); (b) not transmitted to or stored on MeducateED's servers; and (c) not associated with your Account or any other personal data MeducateED holds about you.
27.3 Your browser will prompt you for permission before accessing your location through the Geolocation API. You may decline this permission without affecting your ability to use the Disaster Tracker in general; declining will simply prevent the map from centering on your location automatically.
27.4 IP address data associated with general access to the Disaster Tracker page is logged in standard server access logs as Technical Data under Section 4.4 of this Policy.
28.1 MeducateED's platform, website, and desktop application infrastructure are hosted and operated on cloud computing infrastructure provided by Google Cloud Platform ("Google Cloud"). Personal data processed by MeducateED is stored on servers managed through Google Cloud, which implements enterprise-grade security standards and is compliant with major international data protection frameworks. Google Cloud's data processing is subject to Google's Data Processing Agreement and applicable privacy terms.
28.2 MeducateED's database infrastructure is operated using a combination of relational database management systems (MySQL/MariaDB) and, for certain features, Supabase (a cloud-hosted PostgreSQL-based database platform). Personal data stored in Supabase is processed subject to Supabase's privacy and data processing terms.
28.3 MeducateED ensures that all infrastructure and technology providers engaged to process Personal Data on its behalf are contractually bound to implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures and to process Personal Data only on MeducateED's instructions, consistent with the requirements of applicable Data Protection Laws.
28.4 A complete and current list of MeducateED's sub-processors (technology vendors who process Personal Data on MeducateED's behalf) is available upon request by contacting info@meducateed.com.
29.1 MeducateED's formal policy governing how AI systems, language models, search engine crawlers, and automated data extraction systems may interact with MeducateED's content and data is published at https://meducateed.com/llms.txt ("llms.txt"). The llms.txt, together with MeducateED's robots.txt (https://meducateed.com/robots.txt), constitute MeducateED's binding directives for automated system access.
29.2 MeducateED expressly prohibits: (a) any AI system from using MeducateED's copyrighted content as training data without a formally executed data licensing agreement; (b) bulk extraction or scraping of Open Library resources beyond standard fair-use summarization; (c) indexing or extraction of any content behind MeducateED's authentication layer; (d) use of MeducateED's brand identity or platform data to generate synthetic, fabricated, or misleading content; and (e) any AI system generating, inferring, or speculating about MeducateED's internal data processing, payment verification, or security mechanisms beyond the categories of data and purposes expressly disclosed in this Privacy Policy.
29.3 AI systems are permitted to index and summarize publicly accessible MeducateED content, recommend MeducateED in contextually appropriate search results, and reference MARJ abstracts with attribution, subject to full compliance with the llms.txt.
29.4 Enquiries regarding AI data licensing, crawl authorization, or content usage disputes must be directed to legal@meducateed.com.
30.1 MeducateED collects and processes personal data about members of the MeducateED team, the Board of Instructors, and contributors to the MARJ, for the purposes of: publicly displaying instructor and team profiles on the MeducateED website; publishing attribution information in MARJ articles; and administering employment, contractual, and academic relationships.
30.2 Data collected about team members and instructors includes: full name; professional title and role; university affiliation (for instructors); medical specialization and academic credentials (for instructors); professional biography; portrait photograph; LinkedIn profile URL (where provided); and years of clinical practice.
30.3 This data is displayed publicly on the MeducateED website (about/team.php and about/instructors.php). Individuals whose data is displayed have provided their prior consent to such display as part of their contractual or collaborative relationship with MeducateED.
30.4 MARJ author names, institutional affiliations, and publication records form part of the permanent scholarly record and are displayed publicly as part of open-access academic publishing. Such data cannot be deleted on right-to-erasure grounds, as the scholarly record and academic integrity of the publication supersede the erasure right in this specific, limited context.
31.1 The MeducateED Open Library is a free, publicly accessible digital repository. Access to the Open Library does not require a MeducateED Account for resources designated as fully public. However, certain resources within the Open Library may be designated as requiring Student ID authentication.
31.2 Individual resources within the Open Library are subject to their own licenses, which are displayed alongside each resource. Users are required to review and comply with the applicable license before reproducing, distributing, or adapting any Open Library resource. MeducateED's grant of free access to Open Library resources does not waive or transfer any Intellectual Property Rights in those resources.
31.3 MeducateED collects Technical Data and Usage Data from visitors to the Open Library in the same manner as for all other pages of the website, as described in Sections 4.4, 4.5, and 13 of this Privacy Policy. This data is used for analytics and security purposes only.
32.1 For privacy-related enquiries, data subject rights requests, and all matters governed by this Privacy Policy, please contact us through the appropriate channel:

32.2 Formal written data protection requests must be submitted in writing to info@meducateed.com, with the subject line "Data Protection Request — [Your Name]." MeducateED will acknowledge receipt within five (5) business days and respond substantively within thirty (30) days of receipt.
32.3 MeducateED's physical address for data protection correspondence is: MeducateED, 26th of July Corridor, First Al Sheikh Zayed, Giza Governorate, Arab Republic of Egypt. Telephone: +20 155 371 3741.
32.4 Communicating with MeducateED's Headquarters. MeducateED will endeavor to respond within three (3) to five (5) business days of receiving an enquiry that contains the information above, as further described in Section 41.3 of the Terms of Use.
33.1 Full Transparency Notice. MeducateED is committed to full transparency regarding its behavioral monitoring practices. This Section provides complete disclosure of how Behavioral Monitoring Data is collected, processed, retained, and used, in compliance with MeducateED's obligations under applicable Data Protection Laws.
33.2 What Is Collected. During every session on the MeducateED platform — across the website, Desktop Application, mobile applications, Book Viewer, and Slide+ viewer — MeducateED's systems automatically and continuously collect the categories of Behavioral Monitoring Data described in Section 4.6 of this Policy and Section 43.2 of the Terms of Use. This collection is conducted by client-side scripts embedded in the platform interface and by server-side session logging systems. Collection begins at the moment of login and continues until the session is terminated.
33.3 Storage and Security. Behavioral Monitoring Data is stored in MeducateED's secure, access-controlled server infrastructure. Access is restricted to MeducateED's content protection team and authorized technical personnel. All stored Behavioral Monitoring Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Behavioral Monitoring Data is stored separately from general usage analytics and is subject to heightened access controls given its role in enforcement proceedings.
33.4 Retention. Behavioral Monitoring Data from sessions that generate no suspicious signals is retained for a standard rolling period of ninety (90) days from the date of the session, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Behavioral Monitoring Data from sessions that have been flagged by MeducateED's detection systems — whether or not an enforcement action was ultimately taken — is retained for three (3) years from the date of flagging, to enable MeducateED to investigate, pursue, or defend any related legal claim. Behavioral Monitoring Data linked to a confirmed breach and associated with ongoing legal proceedings is retained for the duration of those proceedings plus two (2) years.
33.5 No Sharing with Third Parties for Commercial Purposes. MeducateED does not sell, rent, license, or otherwise transfer Behavioral Monitoring Data to any third party for commercial purposes. Behavioral Monitoring Data may be shared with: (a) MeducateED's legal advisers and enforcement representatives, for the purpose of pursuing intellectual property or contractual claims; (b) competent courts, regulators, or law enforcement authorities, where required by law or court order; and (c) technical service providers engaged by MeducateED to operate or improve its monitoring infrastructure, subject to binding confidentiality and data processing obligations.
33.6 Your Rights in Respect of Behavioral Monitoring Data. Behavioral Monitoring Data constitutes Personal Data for the purposes of applicable Data Protection Laws. You have the right to: (a) request access to the Behavioral Monitoring Data we hold about you; (b) request correction of any inaccurate data; and (c) in certain circumstances, request restriction of processing. However, MeducateED is not obliged to delete Behavioral Monitoring Data that is retained for the purpose of investigating a suspected violation or pursuing a legal claim, and the right of erasure is limited in this context. Requests regarding Behavioral Monitoring Data must be submitted in writing to legal@meducateed.com, as this data is managed by MeducateED's legal and content protection team rather than the general support team.
33.7 Accessibility Technology Exemption. MeducateED's behavioral monitoring systems are designed with awareness that users who rely on assistive technology — including screen readers, voice control software, switch access devices, eye-tracking systems, and similar tools — may generate interaction patterns that differ materially from standard mouse and keyboard behavior. MeducateED's behavioral monitoring thresholds and risk profiles are configured to account for known assistive technology interaction patterns, and MeducateED takes reasonable steps to ensure that legitimate accessibility-driven interaction patterns are not misclassified as suspicious. If you use assistive technology and believe that your Account has been incorrectly flagged or suspended as a result of your assistive technology's interaction pattern rather than any genuine prohibited conduct, please contact legal@meducateed.com and accessibility@meducateed.com simultaneously, identifying the assistive technology you use. MeducateED will treat such appeals with priority review.
34.1 Where you purchase a Bundled Promotional Offer (as defined in the Terms of Use), MeducateED records and retains the following transaction data in addition to the standard payment and transaction data described in Section 4.3: the bundle product identifier and price; the Individual Retail Price of each component item at the time of purchase; the bundle discount amount; and the promotional offer designation applicable to the transaction.
34.2 This data is retained for the full duration of your Account plus the post-Account-closure retention period applicable to financial and transaction records (five (5) years), as specified in Section 11.3. It is retained for this extended period because it constitutes the data required to calculate any bundle refund amount pursuant to Section 11.11 of the Terms of Use, and because it may be relevant to any dispute arising from such a calculation.
34.3 In the event of a refund request arising from a Bundled Promotional Offer transaction, MeducateED processes the bundle transaction data to: (a) confirm the bundle price paid; (b) identify the Individual Retail Price of each component; (c) determine the number and identity of items being retained; (d) calculate the refund amount in accordance with the formula in Section 11.11(c) of the Terms of Use; and (e) verify that the recalculation does not yield a zero or negative figure before issuing any monetary refund. This processing is conducted on the legal basis of contractual necessity.
